The law and the morality of a society are what the citizens/subjects are willing to put up with. It’s might makes right, regardless of what one may think or believe.
The might of Christianity and of Western Civilization has made our – unique – view of morality, human rights, etc., the dominant one, and therefore “right,” but it is foolish think this would have been the case had Christianity and the West not become the mightiest of civilizations.
It is equally foolish to think our rights exist for any reason other than our willingness to destroy any enemy attacking them. […]
This is an excellent column; long but worth the read.
To (grossly; IMO) summarize: Entropy is affecting and will continue to affect the Country Class, while the Ruling Class will continue to centralize order at the expense of our Liberty.
The dichotomy of the Country Class (my summary, not that of the columnist) seems to be that “leave me alone” is not an organizing principle, but if we don’t organize, we’ll never be left alone. In fact, we’ll continue to be subject to more and more progressive “order” and concomitant lack of liberty – until we have none.
People need to grasp that the establishment of both political sides hates the Middle Class. The rise of Islamism in the West is an existential threat to the Middle Class, as is unchecked illegal immigration to America’s Middle Class.

The rich vote whatever level of government they want. The poor don’t care about liberty or freedom – they can’t afford it. The rich have it – in spades […]
We need to stop being so accepting of and lenient with violent protestors. Charging 217 in DC with felony rioting is a good start – but it’s generations overdue.
Talk, walk, march & speak. Blog & pamphlet. That’s part of our heritage & most will support doing so – or should. Or at least not complain. It’s our right as Americans under the Rule of Law.
But setting fires? Destroying cars? Breaking windows? Blocking highways? Nope. Occupy the office of a university president? Burn up a limo that is the livelihood of some blue collar worker? Go to prison.
- This column is exactly correct. (I do find myself hoping it is not premature – our version of a Nobel Peace Prize prior to results, however…)
- Trump winning is as significant as the Magna Carta and Lexington. It’s taking back our rightful place as independent, self-governing people.
- It’s Lexington, Runymede, Tahrhir.
- It’s Brexit
- If Trump performs to his opportunity and promise, this is more significant than Reagan.
