American Ignorance, Russia and Islam

Why would Russia not ally with Iran?

Muslim Distribution

Anti-Russian Sunni are on Russia’s southern border and within the Republics of the former USSR that Putin would like to rebuild. Shia Iran would love to destroy Sunni islam and rebuild the Persian Empire. Russia would love permanent warm-water ports on the Mediterranean (Shia Syria) and the Indian Ocean (Shia Iran). Put an Iranian ally in charge of that? Why not? By foolishly destroying Iraq, an ignorant America destroyed the only regional opponent capable of stopping Iran.

Together Russia & Iran can rid the region of Sunnis; doing so is in […]

Forward Deployment

Both Foreign Affairs and CATO are writing on the issue of forward deployment of American military forces.

They are starting from the wrong place.

Deployment of military forces is driven by strategy, which is downstream of politics, serving a political goal.

Rather than discuss the best way, or where, to deploy forces, why not backup and discuss the goal? Once the goal is agreed upon, strategy follows.

What is the goal of deploying forces forward in Europe?

If it is to defend Europe, what are we asking those forces, and the American taxpayer to defend?

A “Split” Means Two Sides

Trump’s presence on the world stage is unnerving those, Left and Right, who are invested in the Western post-war order. Their complaint is that he will upset what already is devolving to failure, as acknowledged by the people living in the countries of the West, if not by its out-of-touch elites.

With european fertility nonexistent, and the takeover of all future employment in europe by illiterate muslims as a result, the “West” now consists of N. America, Britain (maybe – post-Brexit, we shall see…), and a mercantilist East-Orthodox Russia trying to Westernize.

There can be no “split” with a europe […]

Hillary & the Neocons want War w/ Russia

I already saw this movie. It was called “Vietnam.” Are we now awaiting another “Tonkin Gulf incident” – a lie from Obama(D) or Hillary(D) just like the lie from LBJ(D) that killed 58,000 Americans (and 2M Vietnamese)?

I could not care less if these idiots ALL kill each other. Syria is of zero strategic value to the US. OTOH, Russia’s ONLY permanent warm-water port is IN Syria, so they have a serious reason to get involved. It’s ALSO on their southern doorstep.

Darwin works – ALWAYS. If nation states cannot protect and defend themselves, then that needs […]

US Needs to Re-evaluate Foreign Policy

The 20th Century was “The American Century,” and most of us who came to adulthood in the latter half are accustomed to two constants: The Russians are the enemy, and we can throw-around our weight whenever and wherever we want.

Both of these need to be reconsidered; not from a lack of will, guts or engagement, but because they are, like the century in which they were born, past.

Whether the neocons like it or not, the Cold War is over and we won. Rather than continue to assume that Russia is and always will be our enemy, we need […]
