Walls, maintenance, cost offsets and investment

Reuters estimates that The Wall for which Trump voters voted may cost as much as $21.6B, and take 3.5 years to build. The Federalist estimates that illegal immigration costs the nation $135B per year. (It’s probably safe to assume the publications have offsetting bias, so we’ll just go with their numbers.)

Using these figures, the wall costs 15% one year’s cost of illegal immigration, and has a payback period of 57 days following completion, with the assumption that an in-progress wall does not drive down illegal immigration, probably a false assumption. This also assumes, probably also incorrectly, that The Wall […]

Peak Disruption

The post-war Old Order crashes around us. The Information Age reaches the maturation necessary to displace the Industrial Age.

Peak disruption may be at hand in the transition, but peak influence never will arrive. The influence of information will – can – never cease expanding, for such is the nature of information.

The post-post-war order rises. The disruptions accelerate and enlarge as one Age gives way to the next. Fukuyama was wrong.

The media that provided the compass and the landscape for millennia is the troll under the bridge wooing us from reality and telling us of a path […]

The Ramifications of Large muslim Immigration to America: Entirely Bad

Let’s take their “religion” out of the discussion and look at the effects and consequences of muslims coming here in large numbers.

LITERACY, JOBS, ECONOMIC INTEGRATION

Muslims are illiterate. Arab countries have the highest rates of illiteracy in the world, outside of sub-Saharan Africa. They cannot, and with their rejection of literacy never will be able to, compete in modern economies. They will be a drain on the productive workers in America. Forever.

Muslims are not competitive, literate, educated, freedom- and liberty-loving people, all common traits of Americans. They are NOT Americans in different clothes.

If you read […]

Trump: Limit Immigrants. History Lesson: America has done so before

Trump calls for no more muslims to be admitted until we have a handle on this stuff.

History lesson: America has before limited immigrants from particular groups to allow assimilation by them, and economic opportunity to be spread across immigrants and Americans. For those saying “that’s not us,” WRONG – we’ve done it several times. And we became “us” by doing so.

Had europe NOT tossed out ALL the muslims (finishing in 1492; they were called “moors”), the modern world would be far less “modern” than it is.

Islam is a retrograde force on civilization. Denying that is just […]

Low-Skill Immigration and America’s Future

When push comes to shove for the decreasing numbers of low-skill jobs in which increasing numbers of low-skill workers predominantly are employed (illegal Hispanic immigrants, African Americans and, increasingly, muslims), these three groups are going to go to war with each other over those jobs as those jobs disappear with the advance of the Information Age and robotics.

If African Americans understood that it is Democrat politics driving down their wages and prosperity by increasing the supply of low-skill workers through immigration, they – logically – would begin to vote GOP. That they don’t shows how captive they are to […]
