OBOR for the Americas

With the 100% probability that OBOR will raise living standards across Eurasia, 10 suggestions:

  1. Build an “OBOR-Americas. Look at OBOR as a model for similar infrastructure from Alaska & Canada to Tierra del Fuego, enriching everyone along the way: road and rail links, seaports. Add airports where it makes sense. Add an electrical grid and Venezuela can start selling their oil again to benefit the region by burning it into electricity, increasing manufactures. Then they’ll all need cars to get to work so will buy gas. Will Venezuela play? They can get on-board or OBOR-A will avoid

Forward Deployment

Both Foreign Affairs and CATO are writing on the issue of forward deployment of American military forces.

They are starting from the wrong place.

Deployment of military forces is driven by strategy, which is downstream of politics, serving a political goal.

Rather than discuss the best way, or where, to deploy forces, why not backup and discuss the goal? Once the goal is agreed upon, strategy follows.

What possible response exists for millions of families no longer able to feed themselves or their children…. other than a general revolt?

Who will be around to put-down that revolt in a generation or […]

A “Split” Means Two Sides

Trump’s presence on the world stage is unnerving those, Left and Right, who are invested in the Western post-war order. Their complaint is that he will upset what already is devolving to failure, as acknowledged by the people living in the countries of the West, if not by its out-of-touch elites.

With european fertility nonexistent, and the takeover of all future employment in europe by illiterate muslims as a result, the “West” now consists of N. America, Britain (maybe – post-Brexit, we shall see…), and a mercantilist East-Orthodox Russia trying to Westernize.

There can be no “split” with a europe […]

Europe’s Existential Mistake … and America’s?

Following WW2, Europe’s leaders mistakenly decided Hitler & the Holocaust were the result of nationalism, so they erased their borders and made nationalism a thought crime. That Hitler was a one-off and the result of the Treaty of Versailles (another creation of the ever-failing leadership of the Continent) was not considered, though it was the actual provenance of Hitler and the Holocaust.

Because Europeans always had warred against one another and dominated all others (which is also why they and their American descendants invented the modern world), they figured if they destroyed the internal means and ideology of war, they’d […]
