If you start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the cage, hang a banana on a string from the top. Then you place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the other monkeys with cold water. After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result… all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another Monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs.

To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new one.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment… with enthusiasm.

Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by a fourth, then the fifth.

Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs he is attacked.

Most of the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, none of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.

Why, you ask?

Because in their minds… that is the way it has always been!

This, my friends, is how Congress operates… and is why, from time to time, All of the monkeys need to be REPLACED.

Air Force 2 only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2. It costs only $11,500 per hour to operate Air Force 2 and each additional plane for the other members of our party group.  These are only rough estimates, but they are close (who’s counting?). That’s quite a carbon footprint as my good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can lessen our combined carbon footprint.

I know times are hard and millions of you are struggling to put food on the table and trying to make ends meet. I do appreciate your sacrifice and do hope you find work soon. I was really exhausted after Barack took our family on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks ago. I just had to get away for a few days. Will write more from Martha’s Vineyard where we will spend our sixth vacation this year with more of our family and friends.

NONE have what Christie has at this point - a solid record of taking-on and reining-in public sector unions, the most egregious cause of our state bankruptcies nationally, and a leading cause of the economic difficulties in which we now find ourselves.

Common sense. Free market. Reducing union power. Rule of Law.

He has excellent executive experience. He has not implemented RomneyCare. He has not been mercilessly lampooned to the point where the MSM could NEVER allow victory or be in the same galaxy with “impartial”. he has not muffed a major national speech.

Brewer? Maybe. Ryan? VP. West? VP or SecDef.

The Washington Post, no less, is reporting this.

I guess Obama gets to do this if he wants to… but the DoD and ALL SERVING MILITARY PERSONNEL ought to take a new look at their CINC and his halting the judicial prosecution of a man who planned the attack that killed 17 and wounded 39 serving US Navy personnel.

Now if you recall, the Left insists that we treat terrorism as a criminal, rather than a military, issue…. and now we refuse to prosecute those the Left insists are criminals?

The military inculcates a no-man-left-behind mentality at the very core of our fighting men and women. Refusing to prosecute the man who killed 17 serving personnel is not very far from leaving those men and women behind.

I’ve noted before and I’m noting again - any ANY serving officer who sends his/her soldiers/sailors/airmen/Marines into harm’s way for a CINC who doesn’t want to win and who requires ROE that put our soldiers at-risk while putting enemy civilians above the lives of our fighting men and women.. is a COWARD unfit for the uniform of the United States of America.

I’ll add this: ANY serving officer who sends his/her men and women into battle under the orders of a CINC who refuses to prosecute the enemy (after insisting that we treat terrorism as a judicial rather than a military issue), is a COWARD, as well. These soldiers/sailors/airman/Marines put their LIVES in the hands of their commanders.. and the CINC won’t PROSECUTE the murderer of 17 of their brethren?!?!?

The military has become a Palace Guard. It needs to return to being a professional fighting organization instead.

More to the point, it needs to begin doing its job as the protector of the Constitution from the DOMESTIC ENEMY in the Oval Office.

Saudi Arabia is the home of Islam - Mecca, Medina and all that. The Muslim world views NYC as the financial and power center of the West. The Muslim wanting to build the mosque says he is doing so with the goal of religious outreach and interfaith understanding.

So… in keeping with that concept: We build a large Christian church in Mecca right outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque and they freely allow the safe and secure passages of Christians from all over the world to attend worship and prayer services there… and then we will allow the building of the Ground Zero Mosque.

Now this surely can’t be controversial, right? They want interfaith outreach? I say sure… as long as it’s both ways. If not, they are just lying… and they wouldn’t…. do…. that……… would they?

Here is the plot summary for a 1967 Star Trek episode titled: “A Taste of Armageddon”:

On a mission to establish diplomatic relations, Kirk and Spock beam down to the planet to learn that its inhabitants have been at war with a neighboring planet for over 500 years. They can find no damage however and no evidence of destruction. They soon learn that the war is essentially a war game where each planet attacks the other in a computer simulation with the victims voluntarily surrendering themselves for execution after the fact. When the Enterprise becomes a victim of the computer simulation and ordered destroyed, Kirk decides it’s time to show them exactly what war means.

And here is a re-write to put my point in plain English:

After being attacked by ideologues voluntarily surrendering themselves for self-execution and martyrdom via suicide bombs, and having thousands of Americans killed a few - or many - at a time, America & her foe begin a decades-long exchange of pinpricks while inflicting little or no real damage to either side.

America is - or certainly ought to be - tired of the real-life absurdity of this TV sci-fi plot line from 40+ years ago.

In the show, the absurdity is ended by Kirk’s destroying the computers of one side, forcing the two worlds to fight a real war with real death and real destruction so that they realize war is NOT a game and come to understand that, without serious negotiation — SERIOUS NEGOTIATION - destruction is on its way. No more pinpricks to salve consciences. No more utterly pointless loss of life - and of future sons and daughters never-born who may have become Einsteins or Mozarts. Get along or suffer the real consequences of real war until the problem is solved - through war or through negotiation… but solved.

It’s time to stop allowing the deaths of civilized peoples through an endless exchange of pinpricks.

It’s time to solve the problem. To show them what war really means. Only then will either side actually negotiate in seriousness. Until then the pinpricks are too small to really engage civilization, and our war with this enemy, too, may drag on for 500 years.

Is that what we want?

Here is an article on a sentence handed down in the Saudi “judicial” system. Technically speaking, of course, the court finds guilt and the victim, or the victim’s family, decides the sentence. This is a technicality. With the government allowing the victim to select any kind of punishment, the government remains responsible for any selection made.

The concept that governments are there to protect the rights , freedoms and liberties  of - to say nothing of not intentionally paralyzing — their subjects is so foreign to Islam that it lacks any meaning.

In this instance the “guilty” party got in a fight a couple of years ago and struck his opponent with a cleaver, severing the man’s spinal cord and leaving him paralyzed.

He was found guilty, evidently in a court without any defense attorney whatsoever. So much for the rule of law - and CERTAINLY a total disgrace insofar as the modern world is concerned.

So, what is the sentence? The “guilty” party will have his spinal cord medically severed.

Now I could go on and on - as could most civilized people - about the utter barbarism of this “justice,” so I won’t bother other than to say that it would have disgusted anyone in the West for well over the past millennium with the possible exception of Torquemada.

(And I could go on and on about stoning a woman to death for sex. Or “honor killing” a girl for going on a date. Or genital mutilation to ensure a woman never has an orgasm.)

But that’s not my point

THIS is my point:

Those on the Left who insist on cultural relativism and “multiculturalism” have put themselves in the position of being COMPLETELY unable to comment on the barbarity (it seems such an inadequate word to describe the willful severing of a man’s spinal cord) of this “judicial” sentence.

This same group of “multiculturalists” insists that other nations have labor laws, gender equality laws, child labor laws, environmental protection laws, etc., etc., ad nauseam, identical to American laws - which are even more stringent that those of the West in general.  This same group of “multiculturalists” insists that we treat all cultures as equal to our own, and demands recognition that WE, the WEST, are the most villainous culture in the history of the planet.

And now they support, tacitly or otherwise, the intentional severing of a man’s spinal cord by a government in a “culture” these Leftists insist is equal to our own.

If this is  not reason enough to ban teacher unions and the mal-education of generations of citizens and voters, then what level of disgust IS required to do so? What level of revolting behavior is required to understand that an educated citizenry never would put forth this barbarous nonsense of “multiculturalism”?

The complete disgust of civilized persons for this same brand of Islam that the Saudi government funds in Madrassas and mosques across the world - including here in the US - cannot be overstated.

That ANYONE actually believes that this “culture” is equal to - or even deserving of recognition by - our own is comprehensively revolting.

And OBTW…. who do you think is funding the Ground Zero Mosque? And who funded Obama’s education at Harvard?

In 1994 America was up-in-arms because some dumb American teenager in Singapore was about to get “caned” for spraying paint on a few cars. It seems spanking a kid six times with a bamboo cane was a violation of his rights. Hey - when in Rome and all that, and spanking is not a big deal - certainly not when compared to the intentional medical severing of a man’s spinal cord.

President Clinton asked Singapore to waive the punishment. He got the punishment reduced to four strokes of the cane. The kid walked away from the caning intact with only his butt and his ego bruised.

Where’s the revulsion from our president now? Our State Department? ANY governmental entity in America?

Our president and secretary of State quite simply are not worthy of our nation. Not commenting here is a betrayal of America’s values and ideals. No other way to state this exists.

Can it be that America, through the “leaders” we have chosen, cares only about American human rights?

Is THAT how low we have fallen?
