How about a sane approach to the Mosque?
Friday, August 27th, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, Politics, War and TerrorismAmerica, and the West in general (in fact, it’s part of the foundation of the West) is extraordinarily tolerant of religious practices. Our Liberal wings all believe in the relative equality of cultures and equal outcomes.
So - how about this:
Saudi Arabia is the home of Islam - Mecca, Medina and all that. The Muslim world views NYC as the financial and power center of the West. The Muslim wanting to build the mosque says he is doing so with the goal of religious outreach and interfaith understanding.
So… in keeping with that concept: We build a large Christian church in Mecca[…]

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 under Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, The Rest of the WorldWhile the rest of the world struggles forward in the 21st Century, the Saudi brand of Islam remains - willfully, stubbornly, revoltingly - rooted in the 7th.
Here is an article on a sentence handed down in the Saudi “judicial” system. Technically speaking, of course, the court finds guilt and the victim, or the victim’s family, decides the sentence. This is a technicality. With the government allowing the victim to select any kind of punishment, the government remains responsible for any selection made.
The concept that governments are there to protect the rights , freedoms and liberties of - to say nothing of not[…]

Friday, August 20th, 2010 under Domestic, MulticulturalismA friend of mine just started a new business.
He’s making land mines that look like prayer rugs.
Says business is doing well.
Prophets are going through the roof.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, War and TerrorismSo Radical Muslims now are threatening the creators of South Park with death for writing a send-up of Muslim terrorists about how it is impossible to show Mohammad on TV. This logically follows the global riots and killing over a CARTOON. At least the cartoon was of Mohammad… The South Park episodes are about not being ABLE to show Mohammad…
(Pop Quiz: If the creators of South Park are killed, will Liberals blame them for their own (probably gruesome) deaths? Extra Credit: If the creators of South Park agree to have their free speech stifled, will Democrats, once the party of Free[…]

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 under Demographics, Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, MulticulturalismInteresting article wrapped around the Winter Olympics.
Reality doesn’t get any more brutal than this.
Question: If ALL countries and cultures based on the Enlightenment fail, is any outcome other than another Dark Ages even possible?
Something to think about….

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, The Rest of the WorldThose pretending to the conceit of “multiculturalism,” and it is a pretense, have convinced themselves that non-Western cultures are at least as significant and worthy of respect as is the West. If you go to the liberal arts department of any major American University you will be taught that the West is the root of all evil and that other cultures must be respected as they are better than ours.
Leaving aside the idiocy of using the liberty and freedom that exist only in the West to criticize the West, and leaving aside the FACT that nothing of note since paper[…]
Continue ReadingNo, Hannity, America is NOT a ‘Christian Nation’
Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 under Domestic, Miscellaneous, Multiculturalism, PoliticsObama the other day made an intelligent remark. Shocking not only because it was intelligent, but also because of the manner in which the Right Wing responded. It may well also have been the first time I agreed with him.
What was the remark? That America is not a Christian nation.
Of course it isn’t. The First Amendment states that rather clearly for those who, like Hannity, can’t seem to grasp this truism and historical fact.
Was America built on the Judeo-Christian heritage? Of course it was.
Could America have been created in any other religious tradition? Of course not.
Nonetheless our nation is specifically[…]
Continue ReadingGuantanamo Multiculturalism
Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, War and TerrorismHere is a very interesting article (”Court Orders Release of Chinese Muslims from Guantanamo”) from today’s Wall Street Journal, interesting for two reasons – at least.
The first reason is the separation-of-powers. The Court has no more right to tell the Executive what to do than the Executive can tell the Court how to decide a particular case.
If The Bush Administration doesn’t like the Court’s argument in releasing Guantanamo prisoners, there is no Constitutional requirement to release them; the Executive and Judicial are co-equal branches of government. (Had Republicans, when in control of Congress, understood the Constitution they always brandish, they would have removed[…]

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, MulticulturalismToday Sen. Brownback – a Boomer Rightie - is whining that Chinese officials are installing spying devices in major hotel chains to eavesdrop on visitors to the Olympics. Obviously it isn’t only the ill-educated Baby Boomer Left that lacks a general understanding of the way the world works. One awaits an outcry from the Left on civil liberties, privacy and various other concepts that just don’t exist in China.
Newflash: It’s their country. Did anyone really expect China NOT to take advantage of this influx of foreigners to gather a massive amount of information – of which likely way over 99%[…]
