A Haunting Performance

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 under Domestic, Multiculturalism

Take a moment, if you will, to listen to this. It’s a young woman - 13 years old - playing a trumpet solo before a packed audience. The piece is - what’s a good adjective? Grand? Wonderful? Haunting? Beautiful?

Listening to it, taking the time to relax for five minutes and just listen, one thinks of the true glory of our culture and civilization. Nowhere else outside Europe has this - could this have - happened. We treasure music, what it says, what it communicates, how it sounds. It is both an entertainment and a cultural voice of what we have,[…]

… and California … today

Saturday, July 30th, 2011 under Domestic, Immigration, Multiculturalism, Politics

This is an article from  Victor Davis Hansen, a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institute at StanfordUniversity  (Emphasis added by Mr. Hansen)

******************************************************

The last three weeks I have traveled about,  taking the pulse of the more forgotten areas of  central California. I wanted to witness, even if  superficially, what is happening to a state that  has the highest sales and income taxes, the most  lavish entitlements, the near-worst public  schools (based on federal test scores), and the  largest number of illegal aliens in the nation,  along with an overregulated private sector, a stagnant and shrinking manufacturing base, and  an elite environmental[…]

The muslims Aren’t Happy!

Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, Politics, War and Terrorism

They’re not happy in Gaza. They’re not happy in Egypt. They’re not happy in Tunisia. They’re not happy in Libya. They’re not happy in Morocco. They’re not happy in Iran. They’re not happy in Iraq. They’re not happy in Yemen. They’re not happy in Afghanistan. They’re not happy in Pakistan. They’re not happy in Syria. They’re not happy in Lebanon.

So where are they happy?

They’re happy in England. They’re happy in France. They’re happy in Italy. They’re happy in Germany. They’re happy in Sweden. They’re happy in the USA. They’re happy in Australia. They’re happy in Norway.

They’re happy in every country that is NOT Muslim.

And whom do they blame?

Not Islam. Not their leadership. Not themselves.

THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES IN WHICH THEY[…]

“What Has Happened to California?”

Friday, January 14th, 2011 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Multiculturalism, Politics

Victor Davis Hanson has an excellent column out today. It prompted a friend to ask, “What has happened to CA?”

Baby Boomer Progressives happened to CA.

Having somehow been raised to actually believe we all are equal - and not just equal before the law, which was the intent of the Founders’ statement - “Progressives” decided to rob the productive to give to the unproductive, to rob the educated to give to the uneducated, to achieve the equality of result they demand in the only way it can be achieved - at the lowest common denominator.

With neither realization nor acceptance that we are[…]

Written by a housewife, to her daily newspaper, a national UK paper. This is one ticked off lady.

Monday, November 1st, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, Politics, War and Terrorism

‘Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores in July, 2002, and in  New York Sept 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day in London , and in downtown Manhattan ,  and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?

And I’m supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to[…]

Tolerance? The post-Enlightenment West vs Islam

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, Politics, The Rest of the World, War and Terrorism

Here’s a question for you:

Why, in this nation of tolerant people, is THIS acceptable, but THIS is not?

Hmmm?

I ask the tolerant multiculturalists among us.

How about a sane approach to the Mosque?

Friday, August 27th, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, Politics, War and Terrorism

America, and the West in general (in fact, it’s part of the foundation of the West) is extraordinarily tolerant of religious practices. Our Liberal wings all believe in the relative equality of cultures and equal outcomes.

So - how about this:

Saudi Arabia is the home of Islam - Mecca, Medina and all that. The Muslim world views NYC as the financial and power center of the West. The Muslim wanting to build the mosque says he is doing so with the goal of religious outreach and interfaith understanding.

So… in keeping with that concept: We build a large Christian church in Mecca[…]

Disgusting Shari’a and Saudi Islam

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 under Foreign Policy and International, Multiculturalism, The Rest of the World

While the rest of the world struggles forward in the 21st Century, the Saudi brand of Islam remains - willfully, stubbornly, revoltingly - rooted in the 7th.

Here is an article on a sentence handed down in the Saudi “judicial” system. Technically speaking, of course, the court finds guilt and the victim, or the victim’s family, decides the sentence. This is a technicality. With the government allowing the victim to select any kind of punishment, the government remains responsible for any selection made.

The concept that governments are there to protect the rights , freedoms and liberties  of - to say nothing of not[…]

He’s making land mines that look like prayer rugs.

Says business is doing well.

Prophets are going through the roof.
