Regarding the Economy
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, PoliticsIn this OpEd the WSJ published a rant about Obama’s rhtetoric, concluding that, ”A more cool-headed assessment of the economy’s woes might produce better policies.”
“Better” as in ‘better for Americans, their families and their future’? Or “better” as in ‘turning America into a socialist economy and political system reined over by illiberal Democrats for generations to come’?
The author does not say.
It is foolish to assume - as the Right always does - that the Left has the same goals of freedom, prosperity, liberty and an educated citizenry as does the Right. They don’t and they never have. Failure to understand this results in[…]

Friday, February 13th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThe speaker in this CSPAN interview is Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D), Chairman of the Capital Markets Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee.
Want to know what happened to our money - our retirement and our kids’ futures?
Here’s is Congressman Kanjorski (D) telling you. The salient part starts at about 2:15 into the video.
Our health care has been nationalized as a “stimulus.” Did we get to vote on nationalizing our health care? Nope. Will nationalizing healthcare stimulate the economy? No. So this is just a power grab by the liberal elite to force on Americans laws we have been voting against for[…]
Continue ReadingWhat the Debt Really Looks Like - FYI
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThe following information for your enjoyment.
It is a chart showing the following:
Year
US Population
US GDP
US National Debt
Debt as % of GDP
Debt per Capita
For the sake of space, I show only every five years, with the exception of 2003-2008, as they are current.
1972-2005 are ACTUALS from various sources such as the CIA Factbook, IRS and Census.
2006-2008 are ESTIMATES from these same sources.
2008–2040 are PROJECTIONS based on the historical average increases in each category 1972-2005. They do NOT include whatever “stimulus” Pelosi, Reid and Obama will deliver unto us.
In 2040 I dumped in the entire unfunded $40T of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. I[…]
Continue ReadingGeithner, Insanity and the GOP
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsPresident Elect Obama has proposed Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary.
But Geithner didn’t pay Social Security or Medicare taxes for several years, despite constant reminders from his employers, the IMF.
Now, you or I would go to jail for this.
But not Geithner. He’s “contrite” and made an “honest mistake.”
Help me out here. He is a financial professional about to take over Treasury, and it’s an “honest mistake” when he fails to pay his taxes?
But it gets better.
Sen Hatch – a REPUBLICAN, once the party of law and order – says he’ll “still support him… he’s a competent guy.”
I don’t know about you, but[…]
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsToday’s column by Bret Stephens has it exactly right. It is linked here and pasted in its entirety below for those lacking a subscription.
When the liberals today over-reach, and they will, they will have to take the heat for their errors and the destruction they do to the economy and the country.
About Carter, the worst president of the 20th Century, Kissinger noted,
“The Carter administration has managed the extraordinary feat of having, at one and the same time, the worst relations with our allies, the worst relations with our adversaries, and the most serious upheavals in the developing world since the[…]
Continue ReadingThe Baby Boomer Debt - Are GenX and GenY Paying Any Attention at All?
Friday, November 7th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Taxes & EconomySo Detroit wants $50B to subsidize their inefficient unions.
And Boomer politicians just gave the Financial Industry $700B to help them recover from a mess Baby Boomer politicians created - and Baby Boomer financial executives helped along.
Who is going to pay for this $750B?
Our kids – and theirs.
And they voted on this?
Nope.
But wait – there’s more!
Social Security? When that tanks? Who pays for that?
Our kids – and theirs.
And they voted on this?
Nope.
And nationalizing health care? As Canadian doctors are suing Canada to get out of Single-payer? As Swedish doctors are suing Sweden to get out of nationalized health care?
Costs will be[…]
Continue ReadingThe 2nd Amendment - defending the 1st
Friday, October 24th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Education, Politics.. which, of course, is why the 2nd Amendment exists - and why it is #2, and not #3 or #4, etc… because FREE SPEECH MUST BE DEFENDED. (No - Liberal speech codes are NOT free speech. Educated people understand this.)
Too bad the Baby Boomer Left doesn’t understand that. Thank YOU! Unionized Teachers!! AGAIN!!!

Obama v. Democracy on Climate Change — WSJ today
Monday, October 20th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThis is from today’s Wall Street Journal. If it doesn’t scare you in what it portends for a “democratic” Obama Administration, you just aren’t paying attention. If you have yet to be convinced of the totalitarian nature of the modern Liberal, you probably will be convinced by the time you finish this column and understand what it means to your future, your kids’ futures and the American economy. Given that the entire world is supported by our economy, this is, pure and simple, a totalitarian prescription for global poverty and economic Depression in a world that is less able to[…]
Continue ReadingFighting the Iranian Navy?
Friday, October 17th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Foreign Policy and International, War and TerrorismThis article in the Atlantic today posits issues in a naval war with Iran. While an interesting article in which Kaplan discusses asymmetrical naval warfare in a rather mundane way (certainly no new insights are provided), the premise is absurd.
The absurdity, however, is not that of the columnist alone. It seems to be of the strategic “thinkers” in our government and military as well.
The absurdity is the idea of sacrificing American soldiers in combat when the goal of the military action – changing the behavior of the enemy (which is the purpose of war) can be achieved without sacrificing a single[…]
Continue ReadingHanoi: McCain’s Verdun
Sunday, October 12th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsAfter Verdun, a 6-month World War I battle that cost over a million dead, wounded and missing, Western Europe could no longer fight. Not would not fight; could not fight.
The psychological impact destroyed any will to freedom, any capability to fight to be free, any desire for anything other than appeasement. Absent one man, Winston Churchill, and one army - the British, Hitler would have conquered Europe - and perhaps (probably) Russia.
McCain’s 25-year history of bipartisanship, even when unnecessary, such as in the Gang of 14 debacle that prevented originalist judges on SCOTUS, seen in light of the history of vanquished men (and[…]
