Baby Boomer Government and College Football
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsOur Baby Boomer, Democrat government (?) in action. Is there anything this Demo Congress DOES NOT think it must regulate?
This reply is in response to the article below… Boomers… can we just OUTLAW them?
Can anyone find this in the Constitution? The GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES dictating how kids play football?!!?!?!??!
If anyone still needed an object (abject?) lesson in the un-seriousness of Baby Boomers in government… here you are.
From the WSJ today:

Monday, November 9th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Healthcare, PoliticsWhat Obamacare really means:
As the two largest state budget items are Education and Medicaid, and since the Pelosi/Obamacare bill will put huge new requirements on states for additional Medicaid funding, the only way to get those funds will be for the states to lower the amount of money spent on education (most states have constitutional requirements of balancing their budgets).
By expanding Medicaid in the health care bill, Congress will set off political tornadoes across the country that will leave governors and state legislators to clean up afterward. The math is simple, says Heritage:
• State revenues are still in a slump and will[…]
Continue ReadingThe Problem with Rush
Friday, October 16th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsDon’t get me wrong – I am not a Rush basher.
To the contrary, Rush has done some very good things for the country. The only ones who lack this understanding are those trying to turn America into something it is not and never has been (and one hopes never will be), and those believing (unwilling to listen or to think for themselves) the stereotype fashioned by a media unable to compete with Rush in historical knowledge, popularity, ratings, ideas and the ability to articulate them to America.
So – what’s the “problem”?
He can do so much more – right from the[…]
Continue Reading21st Century Great Powers - Who, Who Not, and Why
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, The Rest of the World, War and TerrorismAs the world’s Great Powers re-orient themselves following the major geopolitical occurrences of the post-Soviet world – the rise of Islamists and the utter and complete failure of America and the West to deal with this rise — it is interesting to watch the strategies of the once-and future Great Powers. What Powers will be willing to take what measures appropriate to the threats they perceive to a world order that benefits themselves? Which Powers will not – and so fade from the stage as no longer important to the functioning of the planet and its peoples?
Who are the Great[…]

Friday, July 17th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomySo – here’s the deal in a nutshell according to the Director of the Congressional Budget Office (currently run by Democrats as they control Congress).
“Under current law, the federal budget is on an unsustainable path, because federal debt will continue to grow much faster than the economy over the long run… As a result of those deficits, federal debt held by the public will soar from 41 percent of GDP at the end of fiscal year 2008 to 60 percent at the end of fiscal year 2010.”
–CBO Director, 16 July 2009 in testimony to Congress.
Pretty grim huh? And don’t pretend that[…]
Continue ReadingRegarding the Economy
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, PoliticsIn this OpEd the WSJ published a rant about Obama’s rhtetoric, concluding that, ”A more cool-headed assessment of the economy’s woes might produce better policies.”
“Better” as in ‘better for Americans, their families and their future’? Or “better” as in ‘turning America into a socialist economy and political system reined over by illiberal Democrats for generations to come’?
The author does not say.
It is foolish to assume - as the Right always does - that the Left has the same goals of freedom, prosperity, liberty and an educated citizenry as does the Right. They don’t and they never have. Failure to understand this results in[…]

Friday, February 13th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThe speaker in this CSPAN interview is Congressman Paul Kanjorski (D), Chairman of the Capital Markets Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee.
Want to know what happened to our money - our retirement and our kids’ futures?
Here’s is Congressman Kanjorski (D) telling you. The salient part starts at about 2:15 into the video.
Our health care has been nationalized as a “stimulus.” Did we get to vote on nationalizing our health care? Nope. Will nationalizing healthcare stimulate the economy? No. So this is just a power grab by the liberal elite to force on Americans laws we have been voting against for[…]
Continue ReadingWhat the Debt Really Looks Like - FYI
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThe following information for your enjoyment.
It is a chart showing the following:
Year
US Population
US GDP
US National Debt
Debt as % of GDP
Debt per Capita
For the sake of space, I show only every five years, with the exception of 2003-2008, as they are current.
1972-2005 are ACTUALS from various sources such as the CIA Factbook, IRS and Census.
2006-2008 are ESTIMATES from these same sources.
2008–2040 are PROJECTIONS based on the historical average increases in each category 1972-2005. They do NOT include whatever “stimulus” Pelosi, Reid and Obama will deliver unto us.
In 2040 I dumped in the entire unfunded $40T of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. I[…]
Continue ReadingGeithner, Insanity and the GOP
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsPresident Elect Obama has proposed Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary.
But Geithner didn’t pay Social Security or Medicare taxes for several years, despite constant reminders from his employers, the IMF.
Now, you or I would go to jail for this.
But not Geithner. He’s “contrite” and made an “honest mistake.”
Help me out here. He is a financial professional about to take over Treasury, and it’s an “honest mistake” when he fails to pay his taxes?
But it gets better.
Sen Hatch – a REPUBLICAN, once the party of law and order – says he’ll “still support him… he’s a competent guy.”
I don’t know about you, but[…]
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsToday’s column by Bret Stephens has it exactly right. It is linked here and pasted in its entirety below for those lacking a subscription.
When the liberals today over-reach, and they will, they will have to take the heat for their errors and the destruction they do to the economy and the country.
About Carter, the worst president of the 20th Century, Kissinger noted,
“The Carter administration has managed the extraordinary feat of having, at one and the same time, the worst relations with our allies, the worst relations with our adversaries, and the most serious upheavals in the developing world since the[…]
