Perhaps Calling Democrats “Totalitarians” Gives Totalitarians a Bad Name?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 under Domestic, Healthcare

… In the unlikely event that thinking people need more proof of my previous post that Democrats don’t beleive in Democracy and are, in fact, totalitarians, this just in from the House:

The House Totalitarian “leadership” is weighing a rules change that will allow them to “deem” the Senate bill passed — without a vote in the House.

Ironically enough, this is begin called the “Slaughter” solution. No - not after what it will do to our freedoms, liberties, medical care and economy - but after the Dem Congresswoman who thought it up, Louise Slaughter (D, NY).

No House vote on the Senate bill.[…]

Are Democrats REALLY Totalitarians? REALLY?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 under Domestic, Healthcare, Politics

Many friends and acquaintances accuse me of being over-the-top when I insist on calling the Democrat Party the “Totalitarian Party.” They are certainly entitled to their opinion.

I wonder, however, what they make of this language of The Majority Leaders’ Amendment to current version of Obamacare?

Beginning on page 1,000 of the measure, Section 3403 reads in part:

“… it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.”

This is how totalitarians rule. This is not how Americans govern themselves.

If this bill passes and[…]

Common Courtesy

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

Very little actually shocks me anymore in the political realm, but I certainly was shocked at Obama’s attack on the Supreme Court during the State of the Union speech.

Chief Justice Roberts as noted here his view of the “troubling” remarks.

But this isn’t about politics. This is about courtesy.

The Justices show-up as a courtesy to the President and Congress. No official attendance requirement exists. Just Thomas stopped coming years ago. As Roberts noted, the speech has “degenerated into a pep rally” for one side v the other.

Even that is fine as far as it goes.

But for a host, Obama, to attack a[…]

The American Bird Feeder…

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

From Maxine the Cartoon Old Lady….

I bought a bird feeder. I hung It on my back porch and filled It with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table … Everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had[…]

Greece, Public Unions, Islam, The Future of The West

Monday, March 8th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

Public sector unions have tanked Greece, Portugal, Italy, Ireland and Spain. The group has been given the ironic moniker: PIIIGS. California, NY and other deep-blue states also are allowing themselves to be destroyed by Public Sector unions and Deep-Blue policies.

DC is doing it to the remainder of America. The Dems, against unprecedented opposition, are RULING, not GOVERNING America, and they are absolutely intent on turning America over to the Public Sector.

Many ideas are out there about how to fix the PIIGS, in America and Europe. People pretend that the policies are OK, we just need to figure out how to[…]

SCOTUS on Government-Run Healthcare: NOPE

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 under Domestic, Healthcare

Wow.

Turns out that SCOTUS already ruled on this issue, and with a specific cite to the 10th Amendment.

And we KNOW how hard the Statist… I mean Democrat… no - I mean Totalitarian Party INSISTS on never overturning SCOTUS precedent, right?

Here you go, from a WSJ forum post:

This is a tenth amendment issue - ” The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. “

Healthcare is not in the constitution, thus it is for the States to control. The Supreme court agrees[…]

Constitutional Government - or Obama?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

This is an excellent concise summation of the current status of our Constitutional form of government, that we created in 1789.

The columnist discusses both GOP and Democrat presidents, and the power they have been allowed to accumulate - against their role as defined in the Constitution.

This is not the government we fought and died to build and to defend and maintain.

For this Congress and this president - are destroying our country… and are being allowed - by We The People - to do so.

Perhaps in this, as in so many other things, Jefferson was right, as well:

“What country before ever existed[…]

Did You Think Obama was LISTENING Last Week?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 under Domestic, Healthcare

I like the last line of the CNN reporter in this one-minute video clip re: Obama’s face as he pretended - badly pretended- to listen to any voice other than his own.

CBS News: Is Maxine Waters Really As Dumb As She Seems?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

This is a great article and video clip.

This is the MSM heartland - CBS News, for goodness’ sake - asking if Kerosene Maxine is “as dumb as she seems,” and writing in the column accompanying the video, that, “she demonstrates that there is obviously NO intelligence requirement necessary to be named to the House Financial Services Committee.”

Guess how this complete idiot is voting on healthcare, absolutely convinced she knows more about what We The People need than do we.

If you can - Do

If you  can’t - Teach

If you can do neither - Run for office.

What a complete and total MORON.

Update: Wow.[…]

Canada v. USA in Healthcare - or Why A Province Premier Came to America for Heart Valve Replacement

Thursday, February 25th, 2010 under Domestic, Healthcare

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Danny Williams, the premier of the Canadian province of Newfoundland, traveled to the United States earlier this month to undergo heart valve surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. With his trip, Williams joined a long list of Canadians who have decided that they prefer American medicine to their own country’s government-run health system when their lives are on the line.

But just as American hospitals are becoming popular vacation destinations for about 40,000 Canadians a year, California’s Senate is pressing ahead with its effort to make the[…]
