The Media is complaining the Obama presidency, a presidency completely of their own creation, is limiting their access. Typical illiterate liberal. What did they think Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” was about? (Did they dismiss it because it was written by a woman?)
How illiterate ARE these people? They can arrogantly ask a political candidate, “What do you read?” but have not read – or, worse, not understood – any literature of import in their lives, and so have learned nothing of the human condition?
Their conceit overwhelms.
Next they’ll create a Hillary presidency or a Warren presidency and then – again – be shocked that they can’t control that, either.
You want to know WHY America is the mess it is? Because we gave up on education about 60 years ago, deciding that teaching was a jobs-centered career for The Little Woman rather than the most important career in any civilization, the ONLY career centered on our future.
Our dads went off to the office or the truck thinking that work was more important than the future, and measured themselves with money and position. Our moms measured themselves with their husband’s money and position, and joined the PTA to get out of the house.
Then Women’s Lib happened, and capable women also could measure themselves with money and position – and could get away from the only profession they’d been allowed to pursue, the one the dads wouldn’t raise taxes to pay for and that came along with the frustrations of children being housebroken and trained and educated.
The women who could compete with their minds, who had the intelligence, education and drive to compete with the men in the White Collar ranks left the classroom to do so – and measured themselves with money.
The women who could not compete were unwelcome in the Blue Collar ranks, so they filled the empty teaching slots – and measured themselves with power.
JFK recognized the ability to force all Americans to contribute to the Democrat Party, whether or not they supported its policies, and legalized government-sector unions to provide those billions, simultaneously making un-fire-able those lacking the intelligence to compete with their minds.
Consider that for a moment: We are the most advanced, most prosperous, most technological society in human history. Yet we put our entire future into the hands of those college grads with the lowest measured intelligence among us.
The unintelligent and uneducated busybodies these teachers created knew so little that they decided, as do most unintelligent people unaware of history or alternatives, that they knew best. They went to journalism school, and now tell those of us paying for society how we don’t measure up to their ignorant standards, how to live our lives, how to organize our communities.
We accept the least-capable as the teachers of our children, and ignorant busybodies to educate our voters by delivering the news they want us to learn in the context they want it understood.
Against all history they decide – and lecture us – that lowering living standards through force to provide an unearned lifestyle to others will not harm society.
And our voters, historically illiterate, agree.
They broadcast and publish that a worldview with nothing in its history but the death of prosperity, families, freedom and nations is the “just” way forward.
And we listen, ignorantly nod our heads, and pull the lever for their candidates.
Ignorant ourselves, we push on our kids Science and Engineering, two careers requiring deep training, but no real education.
What have we done with the Humanities? With the only body of knowledge from which we can learn of the human condition now and throughout history in order to understand who we are and how we got here, and to intelligently extrapolate into, and plan for, our future? In our ignorance we have given it away to an ideology the opposite of our own, one steeped not in liberty, self-government, prosperity and freedom, but in their ideological enemies.
We – WE – decided that the education of voters on whom will ride the destiny of creating, adapting and managing technology and society, is unimportant. That the leadership of America does not require an educated electorate. That the future of freedom, liberty and prosperity can be left in the hands of a functionally illiterate mainstream media, an egotistical Dr Frankenstein of our own creation.
Our media Frankenstein has discovered they have created a new monster. And are shocked that its monster is out of control.
It beggars the imagination.
