Discharge Petition on Repeal of Obamacare: 202-225-2815

Monday, June 28th, 2010 under Domestic, Healthcare

You know how in horror movies the monster always arises three times before finally being killed?

Well, Obamacare was thought dead last Fall. Then with the election of Scott Brown it was thought dead again. Then it arose from the dead and through lies, deceit and legislative maneuvering was rammed down our throats.

BUT… it turns out that this third life MAY be its final end. It turns out that not only does there remain a method to KILL IT, but that this procedure already is underway.

There is a thing called a “discharge petition.”

From RedState:

In a nutshell, a congressman can write a[…]

Unconstitutional Government

Friday, June 25th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

I posted here that the Democrats don’t give a rip about the rule of law. Many STILL doubt that fact.

How about the Constitution? Nahhh… Democrats don’t believe in THAT either…

And now they are ignoring, one hopes at their peril, the Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident… That to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…

One further hopes that patriots - all real Americans - remember this part of the Declaration:

That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people[…]

The Future of the World According to Progressives

Friday, June 25th, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, The Rest of the World

If this doesn’t scare you, either you aren’t paying any attention at all, you have no children, or you are among the enemy.

Here are the opening paragraphs of this linked commentary on the article written by a professor @ SUNY (linked below):

To the contemporary conservative, progressive ideology is often murky and incomprehensible.  It is very difficult for some on the right to understand the apparently illogical and unrealistic machinations of the radical leftist mindset.  Their political objectives, if achieved, inevitably lead to further demands for concessions toward an ever-greater ideological purity.

Something even darker and more malevolent is happening, however.  The various[…]

The Obama Dictatorship

Thursday, June 24th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

Is there a point beyond which the American public will not allow Obama to go?

Does the “straw” exist that will back the back of American patience with a rule the Economist has already called “Vladimir Obama”?

Obama confiscated money - and broke our bankruptcy laws - when he took money from bondholders of Chrysler and GM and gave it to the socialists running the UAW.

Obama has refused to do all in his power to stop the leak and alleviate the environmental damage from the Deepwater platform that HIS administration authorized to begin drilling and HIS administration was responsible for regulating.

Obama has[…]

US Military: Defender of the Republic - or Palace Guard?

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

It’s time for the American military forces to choose which they are: Defenders of the Republic, or Palace Guard; and to choose on whose side they are: Obama’s …. or America’s.

Right now they are acting as a Palace Guard for an out-of-control Executive. Are they going to continue to do so?

Obama, our chief law enforcement officer, is rejecting his duty, ignoring the rule of law, breaking the laws, and acting un- and anti-Constitutionally. These are the facts.

Obama’s conduct of the military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, through Rules of Engagement that do not place our soldiers at a higher value[…]

Working Hard on the Deepwater Spill

Friday, June 18th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

Obama and his long days of hard work on the nation’s worst-ever environmental disaster. Defining the disaster. Planning the response. Gathering the resources necessary for the response. Executing the plan.  Evaluating the results. Modifying and moving forward fixing the problem.

Our hero.

Is Obama Really Only “snakebit” and if so, So What?

Friday, June 18th, 2010 under Domestic, Politics

Peggy Noonan, an excellent wordsmith whom, unfortunately for her, the times have passed by (we no longer truly care about what these inside-the-beltway elites think, and Peggy personifies inside-the-beltway mentality) and who for unknown and unfathomable reasons supported obama and continues not to see that he is not the unfortunate recipient of problems large and small, but the cause of those problems, has a silly column in the WSJ today. It is silly, but it is worth reading, if only to understand the depths the elite will plumb to not blame America’s #1 enemy for his complete and total failure to[…]

Brett Stephens: Containment cannot work with Iran

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, War and Terrorism

Brett Stephens, a deputy editor of the Wall Street Journal’s editorial page and the author of the paper’s Global View, a weekly column, has published in Commentary a very important article regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran and the feasibility of a policy of containment should they achieve the status of a nuclear power. He doubts the ability of Iran to be contained, and of the West to persevere through that containment even if Iran chose to allow itself to be contained. You should read it.

In response to his column, the below post. It is long.

Mr. Stephens’ article is an excellent - and necessary article.[…]

Maybe the Brits Will Tell Obama Where to get Off?

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, The Rest of the World, Uncategorized

So today, The One has promised us, he will meet with the CEO of BP and “inform him that he will…”

Where on earth does Obama come up with the idea that he gets to “inform” a foreign national how that national will behave in international waters while running his business?

Did I miss something - like barack’s coronation - while sleeping?

This idiot actually thinks he is some kind of a king or something.

Newsflash, obama - not only are you NOT a king, you are an idiot and less and less of the world has any use for you as the days[…]

Perspective

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 under Domestic, Miscellaneous

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad.”

“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.

“Oh yeah,” said the son.

“So, tell me, what you learned from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered:

“I saw that we have one dog and they have[…]
