Dr John Searle is one of the leading philosophers of the day. Conferences evidently are held to discuss his ideas even though he is still quite alive. And though he is the Susser Professor of Philosophy at Cal Berzerkely, of all places, he’s well worth listening to and reading.
What has this to do with the RNC?
My favorite quote from Searle, which I have noted in another post here, is this: “The Right is too stupid to discuss, but the Left is evil.”
And to prove the first part of his quote, as if it ever needs proving, this.
I stopped donating to the RNC many months ago, as did a friend. We were just emailing and it turns out both of us got our “final notice” to renew our membership this week. What are they going to do? Kick us out of the Party? Bummer…..
The RNC, like day-old fish, just plain stinks.. and needs to be tossed out with the rest of the trash. Guaranteed, they are going to turn an election, 2010, that ought to be a rout, into a close race, with America losing.
Please also find some time to work with or attend your local Tea Party events. The Tea Partiers, in the event you have not realized it, are the current version of the Reagan coalition: fiscal conservatives, Reagan Democrats, anti-big-government types who want smaller government, individual liberty and the freedom to succeed or to fail. The Tea Party is NOT a social conservative ticket – just as Reagan was not a huge supporter of the social conservative agenda, something the Far Right mis-remembers at its peril. Reagan talked about abortion but never delivered a single anti-abortion bill to Congress, and as Governor of CA, signed the then-most liberal abortion measure in the country. Maybe he was prescient and understood the Roe Effect.
And the Tea party is not racist, either, whether the MSM likes it or not. All you have to do is to attend an event to see and understand that.
Like it or not.
And it is PAST time to stop donating hard-earned money, what little Obama is going to leave us, to the RNC.
