This is a new fund setup by Sen Jim DeMint (R, SC) to nominate and elect Conservatives. Please consider donating to, and joining it.
Since the GOP just had 15 Senators vote AGAINST earmark reform, it is past obvious that the GOP is giving conservative voters no reason not to stay home in November, rather than to re-capture the government from the socialists intent on destroying the Constitution, the economy, and the future of our children.
Philosophical point: Readers know that I view the stance of the GOP on social issues (abortion, gay rights) as incorrect (i.e. CRAZY). Those readers will note that electing what are known as “true conservatives,” the purpose of the link here, means supporting the far-right on those issues. Is this a refutation of earlier views? No.
What you also will note from my posts on abortion and homosexuality is that I view neither as more important than getting unions out of the classroom so we can educate our children again, as more important than national security, the economy, etc.
Well, that works both ways. I can insist all I want that the GOP is wrong on abortion, but right now abortion may be the only thing stopping the totalitarian takeover of healthcare. Doing the right thing for the wrong reasons still results in the right thing being done.
I view abortion as less of an issue than many on both the left and the right. But if the only way back toward sanity on fiscal, education and security issues is to support those in favor of overturning Roe (which I think would not achieve GOP goals anyway), then I can support those candidates. I don’t think America ever will step back from abortion for the reasons I wrote in the two posts linked above, but I do think that, absent conservatism returning to government, our country WILL become socialist.
Remember: All is takes to turn America socialist is to take the money out of the private sector. The taxes, job losses, hyperspending, and the Treasury Bond interest rates required to continue to borrow the money we’re spending – when everyone knows that money will never be paid back – ARE taking the money out of the private sector. Once it’s gone, the only provider of goods and services will be the government and, voiala! Socialism.
A constitutional government of, by and for the people is at stake right now. HC is the current tactic, but if we don’t get McCain-like RINOs OUT of Congress and get Rubio-like Conservatives back in, the drift to the left will not cease until the ideal of America is over and we become just like the losers who stayed in Europe and helped their demi-continent to die around them.
And I’ll do nearly ANYTHING to stop THAT.
