ClimateGate just got Bigger - Russia Accuses IPCC of Ignoring Actual Data from 12.5% of Earth’s surface….
Thursday, December 17th, 2009 under Climate, Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, The Rest of the WorldFrom the Telegraph (UK) today:
Climategate just got much, much bigger. And all thanks to the Russians who, with perfect timing, dropped this bombshell just as the world’s leaders are gathering in Copenhagen to discuss ways of carbon-taxing us all back to the dark ages.
Feast your eyes on this news release from Rionovosta, via the Ria Novosti agency, posted onIcecap. (Hat Tip: Richard North)
Continue ReadingA discussion of the November 2009 Climatic Research Unit e-mail hacking incident, referred to by some sources as “Climategate,” continues against the backdrop of the abortive UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen (COP15) discussing alternative agreements to replace the 1997 Kyoto Protocol that aimed[…]
How Stupid is Obama? This Stupid
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 under Domestic, Healthcare, PoliticsEither he actually believes what I have highlighted below - which means he is stupid beyond hope…
Or he is just lying to the American people - which means he is totalitarian AND stupid beyond hope.
Can’t be anything else:
Obama said Democrats were “on the precipice” of victory, not breakdown.
The president said differences still remain over details but described the bill as an accomplishment for the history books.
The legislation includes “all the criteria that I laid out” in a speech to a joint session of Congress earlier in the year, he said. “It is deficit-neutral. It bends the cost curve. It covers 30[…]
Continue ReadingTHE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 under Domestic, PoliticsTHE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
This one is a little different… . Two Different Versions…. ………. …. Two Different Morals
OLD VERSION
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
MODERN VERSION
The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his[…]

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 under Domestic, MiscellaneousI ran across this quote in one of the books I am reading, Montesquieu and the Logic of Liberty (Paul Rahe).
Given the infatuation of the Left with all things European, and their true lack of regard of patriotism, and their current distaste for Christianity, one wonder about their response to this from Rousseau:
The patriotic spirit is an exclusive spirit, which makes us regard as a foreigner an almost as an enemy all other than our fellow citizens. Such was the spirit of Sparta and of Rome. The spirit of Christianity, on the contrary, makes us regard all men indifferently as our[…]

The “Party of No”
Thursday, December 10th, 2009 under Domestic, PoliticsYep.
Dems have begun again using this line, again in conjunction with elections, this time various off-year elections in various states and localities.
Let’s take a look at the concept of a party of “No” in American historical context, shall we?
The Bill of Rights to the Constitution of the United States of America:
1st Amendment: “Congress shall make no law…”
2nd Amendment: “…the right of the People… shall not be infringed.”
3rd Amendment: “No soldier shall…”
4th Amendment: “…shall not be violated and no warrants…”
5th Amendment: “No person shall…”
7th Amendment: “…and no fact tried…”
8th Amendment: “…shall not be required…”
9th Amendment: “… shall not be construed…”
10th Amendment:[…]

Thursday, December 10th, 2009 under Domestic, HealthcareIs it too much to ask our Senators and Representatives to debate the real issues in the healthcare bills? To be honest about both the probable outcome - and their actual goals - of this legislation?
Why?
The following column covers the largest issues in the debate. If our representative Congress wants to pass this bill, why not debate these issues honestly? If you support Obamacare, why do you decline to do so? Why do you support those who refuse to discuss these issues? If it’s a good plan, show us by debating - honestly - these issues.

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, The Rest of the WorldThe European Left, as always wanting to control the world (see European empires, WW1, WW2, etc.) now wants, with the full compliance of the American Left (who, now that Obama is in office, are wetting their collective pants trying to Europeanize America - whether Americans like it or not) to… surprise! … control the world!
This has been tried before by Europeans. It resulted in, among other things:
- WW1 (15,000,000 dead)
- Russian Civil War (9,000,000 dead)
- WW2 (55,000,000 dead)
- Cold War (2,100,000 dead in post-war German Expulsions from E. Europe)
- Communist China - adopting the philosophy of the European, Karl Marx (50,000,000 - 80,000,000 dead)
- The USSR - both European[…]
Baby Boomer Government and College Football
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsOur Baby Boomer, Democrat government (?) in action. Is there anything this Demo Congress DOES NOT think it must regulate?
This reply is in response to the article below… Boomers… can we just OUTLAW them?
Can anyone find this in the Constitution? The GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES dictating how kids play football?!!?!?!??!
If anyone still needed an object (abject?) lesson in the un-seriousness of Baby Boomers in government… here you are.
From the WSJ today:
Bid to Legislate Football Playoffs Takes Step in House

WASHINGTON–Dismissing complaints from some members that Congress had more pressing matters, a House subcommittee Wednesday approved legislation aimed at forcing college[…]
Continue ReadingClimate Scientists’ Open Letter to UN
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 under Climate, DomesticThis letter is from 141 actual, working climate scientists. It is an open letter written to the Secretary General of the UN.
It neither confirms nor denies anything. Rather the scientists ask the UN (and those demanding changes to taxing, spending and governance) to show observational data (un-manipulated) and accurate climate models (that actually show the changes in climate that we KNOW from recent history), to provide clear, unambiguous factual data proving both that something is happening and that it is the cause of man.
Both are reasonable requests. Should it turn out that something is, indeed, happening and that it is caused[…]
