“Healthcare” update - reply to Sen Ensign From Joint Taxation Committee
Friday, September 25th, 2009 under Domestic, HealthcareJust in case you’ve been only sorta following the healthcare debate and are sure that, at the end of the day, the government will do something at least passably sane, this news just in as a reply to Sen Ensign from the Health Care task force.
Just in case the article at the above link gets withdrawn…. here it is in its entirety:

Ensign receives handwritten confirmation
This doesn’t happen often enough.
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for[…]

Friday, September 25th, 2009 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, War and TerrorismThis is well worth the read. Short. To-the-point.
Terrifyingly accurate.
He must be stopped.
Continue ReadingAppeasing Foes?
Friday, September 25th, 2009 under Domestic, PoliticsIn many articles over the past several months, such as this one by Brett Stephens in the Wall St Journal today, the argument is made, or is foundationally based on the idea, that “Mr. Obama bankrupts his country while appeasing his foe.”
But it is the foundation of the argument made by the columnist that is incorrect.
To understand what is happening, one must look at the big picture from Obama’s standpoint.
Obama’s enemy is the wealth-creating, freedom- and liberty-loving West, particularly America.
It also is becoming increasingly obvious that he views Europe as the enemy, as well. Look at Poland and the Czech Republic. They tried to[…]

Monday, September 21st, 2009 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, War and TerrorismRemember when the Left hammered Bush43 for unilateralism?
For those who don’t recall, it was before and after they were hammering him for NOT being unilateral on North Korea…
Really, though, is there anything even remotely multilateral in the missile defense blunder our Presitwerp just made in Poland and Czech Republic? Even British newspapers are commenting on what a bad and unilateral decision it was.
Perhaps, like dissent, criticism of any type against a president only is acceptable if it’s a Republican president.
How childish is THAT?
And I guess if your guy acts unilaterally you just ignore the screams of fury you made when the[…]

Monday, September 21st, 2009 under Domestic, PoliticsLet me know if you can believe this…
Obama on Meet The Press Sept 20, 2009:
“I mean, let’s face it,” Obama told host David Gregory. “If you look at the news cycle over the last–over the last week–you know, it—it–it hasn’t been the–the sensible people who, you know, very deliberately talk about the important issues that we face as a country.”
So – if you disagree with the president you’re not sensible.
Who in the Hell accepts this characterization of We the People from our President… a guy who WORKS FOR US?!?!?!?
Did the Democrats in the past eight years accept this kind of[…]

Friday, September 18th, 2009 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, War and TerrorismHere’s an interesting article on the non-participation of our Secretary of State as Obama threw our eastern European allies under the bus. It’s an interesting view, from a European, on Hillary’s being nowhere to be found in the largest Foreign Policy blunder of this new presidency she serves.
Question: Is this a move by Hillary to begin to distance herself from Obama for a 2012 run?
Obviously, by anyone’s estimation (other than the children at MoveOn and CodePink), the 2012 campaign will hinge on national security issues.
By 2012, Israel either will have been attacked by, or will itself have attacked, Iran - or[…]

Thursday, September 17th, 2009 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyAn economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had just failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students[…]
Continue ReadingObama is Failing
Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 under Domestic, PoliticsIt is bluntly obvious that if one combines the worst of Hoover (protectionism), the worst of FDR (statism, corrupt voting and patronage) and the worst of a mal-educated voting franchise (electing to the presidency a person who never has held a job and who spent his entire life in the communist/socialist/statist orbit), you get Obama.
The guy is ALREADY a disaster. He will CONTINUE to be a disaster. His goal is undermining EVERYTHING that not only has made this country the destination for emigrants the world over for centuries, but to destroy the market capitalism that creates the wealth needed to[…]
Continue ReadingEnergy Policy - A Suggestion
Monday, September 14th, 2009 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThe lack of an American energy policy, particularly when America currently is the largest user of energy on the planet, simply is childish. Unfortunately, childishness has come to be expected from both of our major political parties.
Using huge amounts of energy with no policy or plan to ensure the continued availability of energy, for the identification and use of new sources of energy that are less polluting to make, use or dispose of, or to invent or identify new ways to source energy where it can be efficiently sourced, to move energy to where it is used, to store energy[…]
Continue ReadingWhy Aren’t Politicians Smart?
Friday, September 11th, 2009 under Domestic, Education, PoliticsInarguably the largest problem in American government is this: Politicians are not smart people.
THIS is the underlying, foundational problem today – in America and in the world.
The ability to read the hell out of a teleprompter is not indicative of intelligence. Rather, it is indicative of a lack of intelligence, of the ability to think on one’s feet, to be able to state principles and articulate rationales, consequences, goals and objectives on one’s own.
Looking good in a 42-Long does not make one smart.
A failed politician who bores to death intelligent people by telling his every listener, “The… earth…. has ……[…]
