I must be missing something.

President Obama has told us that our medical care system is “unsustainable,” that it will financially “break” the country.

So his solution is a program that, according to the Democrat-run Congressional Budget Office, will cost a trillion dollars and cover 16M people, or we taxpayers will be buying medical insurance for 16M people at a cost of $62,500 per person. (Are there ANY intelligent people left in our government?!?)

And not spending $1.5T we don’t have on our medical care will cause the financial ruin of America.

But spending a trillion-and-a-half dollars we don’t have will NOT break America?

But that’s OK – Our esteemed Vice[…]

Your Money AND Your Life? ACORN Will Run YOUR World

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009 under Domestic, Politics

The details of the government healthcare plan are coming out. Above all else, one thing jumps out at you right away if you are paying attention. And as it just adds more dots to an already-forming picture, let’s connect those dots.

(Fleckman is twittering his review of the Bill. His summary of the first 700 pages can be found here.)

This bill inserts ACORN into every facet of your life. From setting healthcare quality standards to payment of government money to deciding which hospitals can expand (or not) to monitoring in-home health care.

We Are Broke - Our Government is Totally Out of Control

Friday, July 17th, 2009 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & Economy

So – here’s the deal in a nutshell according to the Director of the Congressional Budget Office (currently run by Democrats as they control Congress).

“Under current law, the federal budget is on an unsustainable path, because federal debt will continue to grow much faster than the economy over the long run… As a result of those deficits, federal debt held by the public will soar from 41 percent of GDP at the end of fiscal year 2008 to 60 percent at the end of fiscal year 2010.”

–CBO Director, 16 July 2009 in testimony to Congress.

Pretty grim huh? And don’t pretend that[…]

Dear Senator _______

via fax: 202-nnn-nnnn

You are aware of the job-killing taxes in the offing for NYC to support Democrat-led redistribution, including healthcare.  You are aware that CA and NY both are shedding jobs, workers, taxpayers, tax receipts, while still paying out stupefyingly ridiculous sums to cover all kinds of insane programs, and that the Congress is doing the same.  Evidently CA remains a positive model of the future to Congress and Pres Obama rather than the model of the worst possible outcome of a once-free republic it most certainly is to thinking people.

Democrats for some reason remain in[…]

It’s Not About Healthcare

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 under Domestic, Healthcare

The American taxpayer now pays the defense bill for the Western World. Other than America, not one single country in the developed world pays its own way on defense, not one single country can transport or field a military force large or powerful enough to defend itself. Not one single country has the ability to deploy a blue-water Navy to aid tsunami victims or to ensure regional peace.

Why is this important in the health care debate?

Two reasons:

  1. The primary role of government is defense of its territory and citizens,
  2. Money is fungible.

The tax burdens placed on citizens of the developed world are[…]
