Obama’s Eligibility - Was He Lying Then or is He Lying Now?

AP- WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group Americans for Freedom of Information has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College.  Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.  The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California.  The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro)[…]

Why Honduras is Important

Monday, June 29th, 2009 under Foreign Policy and International

In the event you are curious about what is happening in Honduras – and if you aren’t you ought to be - here’s the deal:

President Zelaya tried to rewrite the Honduran Constitution all by himself. While the Honduran Constitution provides for rewrites, such a constitutional convention can only be called by national referendum approved by Congress. In an effort to mimic Hugo Chavez in overturning democracy, Zelaya decided to ram through a referendum on his own and had ballots shipped-in from the Venezuelan dictator.

The Honduran Supreme Court ruled this unconstitutional and instructed the military not to carry out the voting logistics[…]

Health Care Costs from CBO

Friday, June 19th, 2009 under Domestic, Healthcare

Well, now.

Turns out that the Congressional Budget Office has provided their estimate of the cost of Obama’s healthcare:

$1,000,000,000,000. One trillion dollars.

But - we knew it’d be expensive, right? So how many people will it cover?

16,000,000. Sixteen million.

So - if my math’s right, that’s about, oh, $62,500 dollars PER PERSON COVERED.

And, remember - the CBO is now run by Democrats….

And, if there really are 46,000,000 people out there not covered, then this nice little Democrat idea would cost only, umm…. about 3 trillion dollars of YOUR tax money.

And don’t forget - Medicaid was supposed to cost only a bit - but now[…]

Decline and Fall

Thursday, June 18th, 2009 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics

Europe, whose policies the Left for unfathomable reasons worships, recently (no longer) was an open, bustling marketplace of ideas and commerce, of freedom and social safety nets, of tolerance and history. It is nearly impossible to think of any technology, philosophy, invention or idea in-use in the world today that did not come about from Europeans or European societies, like America. From Communism to Capitalism, from Individual Rights to Freedom of Speech to Fascism, from the bicycle to the train, the plane, the transistor, the microchip, the computer, the telephone and the internet, Europeans have created the modern industrial and[…]

Understanding the Age of Obama

Important enough to post in case you decide not to go to the link…

Understanding the Age of Obama

By Victor Davis Hanson

Are you confused by all that has changed since President Barack Obama took office in January? If so, you’re not alone. Perhaps, though, this handy guide to Age of Obama “logic” might be of some assistance.

1. The Budget. Wanting to cut $17 billion from the budget, as President Obama has promised, is proof of financial responsibility. Borrowing $1.84 trillion this year for new programs is “stimulus.” The old phrase “out-of-control spending” is inoperative.

2. Unemployment. The number of jobs theoretically[…]

Inspectors General - More Terminated by Administration

Thursday, June 18th, 2009 under Domestic, Politics

Joining IG Walprin, sacked for an honest investigation of an Obama supporter, two more IGs have been terminated by the Adminstration.

Do Democrats just not care at all about integrity, accountability, the Rule of Law or the future of this country?

Answer: Quite obviously not. They aren’t even pretending to care any longer. Lord Acton was absolutely correct - and Obama and his team continue to prove it:

“All power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

Brokaw now working for the White House. Can’t make this up!

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 under Domestic, Politics

Good to know that the media have decided to quit trying to pretend they aren’t biased, that the charges of media bias not only are true, but true beyond even Rush Limbaugh’s wildest imagination.

NBC’s Tom Brokaw now is a White House Fellow, working for Obama. He just interviewed Obama on June 5th - not even two weeks ago! I’m sure THAT report was un-biased, aren’t you?

(Of course, this is the same guy who wrote “The Greatest Generation” about the generation who raised the Baby Boomers, so he’s been 180 degrees out from reality for quite some time. I mean, seriously, look[…]

Obama, the Constitution and the Military

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 under Domestic, Politics

Some reading this blog have commented to me that perhaps overstatement of objections may rule the day on occasion - that I see things darker than they are. Would that were the case.

Today, two major items:

1. Obama has fired an Inspector General for doing his job simply because the result of that job put an Obama benefactor in the doghouse.  The guy, Kevin Johnson, former NBA athlete and big-time Obama supporter, ran a California non-profit named St HOPE. He took $850K in grant money from AmeriCorps for tutoring inner-city students, redeveloping several city buildings, and working on theater and art programs. Instead he[…]
