Napolitano had Better Keep an Eye on This Person….

Monday, April 27th, 2009 under Domestic, Politics

Quotes from JFK:

“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.”

“Domestic policy can only defeat us; foreign policy can kill us.”

“In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility - I welcome it.”

“Israel was not created in order to disappear - Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy[…]

No, Hannity, America is NOT a ‘Christian Nation’

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 under Domestic, Miscellaneous, Multiculturalism, Politics

Obama the other day made an intelligent remark. Shocking not only because it was intelligent, but also because of the manner in which the Right Wing responded. It may well also have been the first time I agreed with him.

What was the remark? That America is not a Christian nation.

Of course it isn’t. The First Amendment states that rather clearly for those who, like Hannity, can’t seem to grasp this truism and historical fact.

Was America built on the Judeo-Christian heritage? Of course it was.

Barry and the Bank CEOs

Friday, April 3rd, 2009 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & Economy

Today Barry took the bank CEOs to the woodshed.

And the bank CEOs went with him.

“Your job is to enforce the laws, not to tell us what to do. Simply, you lack that authority no matter how much you wish - or fantasize- that you have it.

“You have neither the responsibility nor the[…]

The Budget and the Congressional Budget Office review

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & Economy

TEN TAX FACTS.

#1 .Under the Obama budget, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO; run by Democrats) projects that the national debt will double over the next five years; and it will triple over the next 10 years to $17.3 trillion.

#2. Under the Obama budget, CBO projects that the national debt will soar over the next 10 years from 40 percent of GDP today to a shocking 82.4 percent. (Ronald Reagan left office with the national debt at 42 percent of GDP).

#3. The president’s budget also states that total federal borrowing will grow by $2.7 trillion this year alone, an increase of 27[…]

RICO Twins UAW and Congress

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & Economy

In today’s (4/1/09) WSJ is an OpEd in which it is pointed out that the “bailout” of Detroit is simply tax dollars going into the UAW’s coffers, pure and simple. It has little, if anything at all to do with the success of domestic auto production.

The column is here (requires a subscription).

Many of my friends already have told me they’ll never buy another American car: They don’t wish to buy a product from the American government rather than private industry. One assumes these friends are not unique across the American landscape.

Can one even imagine going to the government on a[…]
