What’s the Answer when the American Government is the Problem?

Every day it becomes more difficult to understand the liberal Democrats now running the country, or those voters who elected them.

I have been around for some time. Yet I don’t recall – ever – such a constant drumbeat of idiocy from any administration. Not even LBJ or Carter, two of the worst presidents of the last Century. Certainly not JFK (who reduced taxes and had a serious foreign policy) or even Clinton (who had a semi-serious foreign policy and eliminated the welfare we now have reinstated without any public discourse).

The Wall Street Journal, to my recollection, never before has published three such scathing editorials in one day, absolutely hammering the complete idiocy of an Administration as these three this morning, 25 Feb 2009, all of which are dead on-target:

Obama Unbridled The President has only begun to expand the government.

Holman W. Jenkins Jr.: Obama Needs a ‘Not To Do’ List The global economic crisis is exposing the president’s preoccupations as the soppy indulgences they always were.

Gabriel Schoenfeld: Obama’s Intelligence Choice The president picks a China apologist and Israel basher to write his intelligence summaries.

Just reading the subheads gives you an idea of the lunacy of Obama and his minions.

Here’s  the most important question of the moment:

Americans always have prided themselves on being able to wait until the last moment to fix a problem or respond to a significant challenge – whether it be WWI, WWII, the moon race, whatever. We wait and wait and then finally get irritated or excited enough to do something and then just get it done. I can’t even count the number of times in my life that I have heard that – when Americans finally agree it’s time to do something, we’ll get it done, no matter how late it is. Think of how many times you have heard that re: “energy independence.”

When the problem is the American government, and the result is throwing away hundreds of years of freedom and liberty; when the problem is essentially ridiculing everyone who has worked hard to establish a good lifestyle for their own family suddenly being told the “fair” thing is to take away their money and redistribute it to those who made bad choices and didn’t work hard in order to give them the same lifestyle others earned, when the problem is the millions of people around the world who are free because they trust America to defend them and our deterrence has allowed them to remain free – but now we are withdrawing that deterrence in the absolute fantasy that the world is a nice place and all its countries and cultures and peoples merely misunderstood Westerners desiring peace above all else (which is essentially the mindset of todays “liberals” and distinctly un-multicultural on its face…)..

When the problem is our own government and the mal-educated voters who voted for it, when does it become too late to fix?

When does it become too late to tackle the problem? When does it become too late to find a solution that retains our liberty and freedom? When does it become too late for us to be able to bequeath to our children the freedoms and security bequeathed to us?

This government is throwing away our heritage and our future.

It needs to be stopped.

Many who understand the problem insist it will become better over time – it always has. The problem with that view is that we may be out of time. Obama and Pelosi are moving so fast, doing so much damage, preventing any discussion on so many changes in law and policy and security that it will be over before we really know it. Our future and security will have been destroyed before the ramifications have even been discussed, let alone studied.

Does anyone really think that the draw-downs in military forces Obama proposes will result in anything other than regional arms races and a far-less-secure world?

Does anyone really think that Israel, once it understands that America no longer will protect it with force will do other than nuke Iran?

Does anyone really think that returning to the pre-welfare-reform days of pre-1998 will do other than put millions more people on the dole, righteously awaiting – and voting on – handouts from the productive classes?

Does anyone really believe that a unionized K-12 that has so mal-educated American voters will suddenly change their ways because their lobby has convinced our government that throwing billions of more dollars at the same people responsible for the destruction of America education, will result in improved education?

But – don’t Democrats want a safe, free, educated future for their children, too, you ask?

No, they don’t. Belief in that causes more problems that you can imagine. Center and Right pundits ask all the time – how will  Policy X get us to Result Y, not understanding that not only will it not, but that “Liberals” want Result Z and despise Result Y.

Liberals don’t want the same things Conservatives want. This isn’t a matter of different ideas of how to get there  – it’s a matter of “there,” and the “there” of the Democrats decidedly is NOT where free, hardworking adults want to go.

America is teetering on the edge of an abyss from which we may not be able to recover for it is our own government which is the problem.

What do we do about that?

About Alex Scipio

About Alex Scipio: Alex moved out of the People's Republic of California to the Free State of Arizona, finally tiring of the lack of the Bill of Rights, the overgrown idiocracy, and the catering to non-Americans & welfare recipients. He still wonders how America got from Truman, Eisenhower, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan to the Liberal and Conservative extremes so badly managing America today. And, yes, islam DOES need to be annihilated. And doing what he can to get folks away from the extremes of political life.
