Bush, Saddam, Yellow-cake and the Media

If somehow you actually believed the mulitalteral decision (all G8 countries) that Saddam was, indeed, buying yellowcake uranium to build nukes, you are hereby redeemed as a multilateralist intelligent person un-swayed by a leftist media and illiberal Democrat party.

If, on the other hand, you insisted that the Joe-Wilson-driven, media-demanded unilateral choice (that’d be only America felt that way) not to believe Saddam had yellow-cake – – wrong again!

Not only did Saddam have it, he had tons and tons of it. 550 metric tons, to be exact.

And Bush has known about it for years – since the US Army found it in 2003.

Truth or fiction? Go to truthorfiction.com and see.

Why are we just now learning?

How about because Bush thought that protecting it from certain terrorist attack in order to take it was more important than the idiots on the left and in the media (sorry for the redundancy) who kept selling the tired Bush-lied-people-died horsecrap?

So – 550 metric tons of uranium were sitting around under the watchful eyes of the USA, and being shipped to Canada to support their nuclear power industry – and Bush didn’t see the need to advertise what he was correctly doing.

Can we have a big shout-out to Bush from the media thanking him for ensuring this uranium not fall into terrorist hands?

Just kidding!

About Alex Scipio

About Alex Scipio: Alex moved out of the People's Republic of California to the Free State of Arizona, finally tiring of the lack of the Bill of Rights, the overgrown idiocracy, and the catering to non-Americans & welfare recipients. He still wonders how America got from Truman, Eisenhower, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan to the Liberal and Conservative extremes so badly managing America today. And, yes, islam DOES need to be annihilated. And doing what he can to get folks away from the extremes of political life.

No one is listening now, and no one was listening at the end of the 2nd Iraq war. (Yes, the war ended long ago, about the time Bush said “Mission Accomplished” and the troops we have there now are policing instead of war-ing. Perhaps all because we shut down the Iraqi Army at the end of the war instead of taking it over and using it…but that’s another matter.) Listening to this stuff might make die-hard denial-ists have to rethink their core beliefs.

Volume 2 of the Duelfer report (which came out in late 2004, I believe), on page 13 said:

    “Iraq’s Known Uranium Holdings:

Known Iraqi uranium holdings have been accounted for by the Coalition and the IAEA. In June 2004, a joint IAEA and Coalition team verified the inventory of Iraqi uranium compounds — an inventory comprising both imported material and that indigenously produced prior to 1991 (see figure 4).

    • During the 1970s and early 1980s, Iraq bought uranium in various forms from the international market. These materials included about 486 tons of yellowcake, 33,470 kg of “natural” uranium dioxide, 1,767 kg of “low-enriched” uranium dioxide (2.6 percent 235U), and 6,005 kg of “depleted” uranium dioxide from Portugal, Italy, Niger, and Brazil.

Prior to 1991, Iraq also acquired highly enriched uranium for its research reactors from France and Russia — material that was removed from Iraq following the 1991 Gulf war. Following the Husayn Kamil defection in 1995, Iraq admitted that in 1991 it had intended to use this highly enriched fuel as part of a “crash program” to develop a nuclear weapon (see Table 1).”
