No, this is not about all The One’s broken promises of public financing of his campaign, or the death-blow he has dealt to arguably the most important liberal accomplishment after Watergate: public campaign financing.
It’s about the – evidently – hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal money flowing into Obama’s campaign – and the fact that the media seem to be OK with these felonies.
What am I talking about? Go read this.
Why can’t the Left understand that breaking the laws when they hold the reins of information – the media (information is power) – allows the Right to do the same when they are in power?
The constant assumption by the Left that they always will be in power is absurd. It may be 50 years, it may be 100. But the political pendulum will swing – it always does.
How will the minority be protected then – when the Left has trampled all the laws in their unsavory quest for total power?
When the Left – the putative champion of the little guy, the working man, free speech (Ha!) – has broken all the laws to advance its own power, who fights for the little guy living and working and raising his kids to understand that the laws are there to protect him against the powerful? That the concept of the Rule of Law was enshrined into Western Civilization like no other – and that it exists to protect the powerless?
Now that the Left has usurped the Rule of Law, who will fight for the Left when the Right takes power and, following the footsteps set in concrete by the Left, ignores the rule of law and governs by the Rule of Man?
This is not a partisan issue. It is an issue of the rule-of-law vs. the rule-of-man.
More importantly, why do the voters condone this behavior by voting for this incredibily corrupt candidate?
Most importantly, why does the Right continue to attack these issues politely with the assumption that everyone really wants to play by the rules? That, if these illegal acts are pointed out, everyone will want to fix them?
NEWSFLASH: The Left doesn’t want to play by the rule. The Left doesn’t like the rules. The Left doesn’t like ANY RULES.
The Left is about power – and power alone. Rules limit power. Having rules limits choice – makes it harder for those in power to do whatever they want – and change the rules – whenever they want to.
This is hardball – we’re talking about Western Civilization. If the Right doesn’t stop playing Pop Warner and start playing NFL, we will be toast.
And that is true whether you believe the Emperor has clothes – or not.
