Obama: ‘They can build coal plants, but we’ll bankrupt them.’

And if you like killing jobs, here’s an entire industry on which Obama already has declared war: Coal. ‘They can build a coal plant if they want, but it [his new regulations] will bankrupt them…” Change the coal industry can believe in?

Change we need?

Let’s see – coal is only responsible for 48.5 percent of America’s electric power.

Taxing coal will increase the price of electricity – quite obviously. This, and any other taxes on basic utilities are enormously regressive.

So much for the “Progressive” party. Raise the price of electricity and the price of EVERYTHING increases.

And jobs? Coal production in the US in 2007 was 1,145.6 million tons .

The US coal industry employs about 80,000 individuals — and dropping. I guess Obama will throw all of them out of work and destroy half our electricity-generating capacity.

What does the coal industry think of this? Not much. Read here and here.

Evidently what he wants to redistribute is poverty, joblessness and a lack of basic services.

This, of course, should surprise no one – it is exactly what socialist leaders always have done.

And remember – before you get all gassed-up about Global Warming, the earth has been cooling since 1998. The 2007 global temperature drop of 0.7 degrees C as the largest one-year drop on record. The winter of 2008-09 already has broken records for cold temperatures – and it’s only November 2. Global Warming is nonsense – mass hallucination. You want to bet 80,000 jobs and half our electricity on it?

About Alex Scipio

About Alex Scipio: Alex moved out of the People's Republic of California to the Free State of Arizona, finally tiring of the lack of the Bill of Rights, the overgrown idiocracy, and the catering to non-Americans & welfare recipients. He still wonders how America got from Truman, Eisenhower, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan to the Liberal and Conservative extremes so badly managing America today. And, yes, islam DOES need to be annihilated. And doing what he can to get folks away from the extremes of political life.
