Can we have an HONEST discussion of Obama’s Tax Policy?
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyCurrently Social Security withholding is capped at $109K. Obama will remove that cap, raising taxes on everyone making over $109K. Additionally, the employer half of that cap will hit every company with employess making over $109K, increasing the prices of goods across-the-board. And all self-employed people who pay both halves of the Social Security tax will see their taxes raised doubly. Add the increases on businesses making whatever the number is $150K, $250k, and the costs - and so prices - of everything they make or sell… rises.
Everyone who buys anything will pay for this tax increase.
What Democrats can’t seem to grasp is that corporations[…]

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, The Rest of the WorldIf you are interested in how taxes drive capital flight from America, read this in Investor’s Business Daily. Capital flight already is occurring as investors from around the globe anticipate Obama’s tax increases. Not good for jobs, the dollar or the economy. Already factoring Obama’s taxes into the equation, gobal investors no longer see America as a good place to invest and have been withdrawing money from the US since 2007. India, Japan, other countries are better, safer investment alternatives. India. Kinda takes your breath away, huh?
If you think that Obama is well-regarded by foreign leaders, including the leaders of those countries most[…]

Monday, October 27th, 2008 under Domestic, Education, PoliticsA friend in California is irritated at the lack of anti-Messiah ads seen on TV out here. Of course, no Republican in his/her right mind would spend money in California at this time, so broadly mis-represented by San Francisco Democrats Barbara “Dim Bulb” Boxer, Dianne Feinstein and 9% Nancy. (And governed by a movie star unwilling to rein-in a Democrat legislature which has put us even farther underwater financially than his Democrat predecessor who was recalled for tanking our economy, not being able to keep the lights on - and being publicly corrupt . I guess Arnold checked his cojones in Maria Shriver’s jewelery box[…]

Monday, October 27th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyThis column from the Wall Street Journal today isn’t (directly) political. Rather it is economic. As the columnist points out, these issues are neither Republican nor Democrat, Conservative nor Liberal. They are economic. Is he a doomsayer? I don’t know enough economics to answer that. But he’s usually been correct in his opinions and I find little to argue with here. If you find problems, feel free to comment intelligently below and educate me and other readers. Thanks.

Monday, October 27th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics(Alex: This post had some quotes from Abraham Lincoln that seem to be in widespread use. The quotes include that you can’t make the poor rich by taking from the rich, etc. Their validity was questioned by a reader. On checking with a web-based fact-checker on Lincoln’s quotes, it indeed turns out that the quotation was NOT real. I therefore have removed it. Thank you to the commenter pointing this out.)

What’s the old saying about familiarity breeding contempt?
By JOHN FUND
Wall Street Journal Editorial Page , October 25, 2008
Barack Obama may be swimming in campaign cash, but he still wants to charge reporters for the privilege of covering his Election Night activities at Grant Park in Chicago.
Crain’s Chicago Business reports that Mr. Obama’s campaign sent a memo saying the price for access to the media area, where electrical power will be available, will be between $715 and $1,815 depending on how many phone lines and power outlets are granted. Reporters who want to cover Obama campaign officials[…]

Friday, October 24th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsThis is from Powerline today.
Especially funny is the fake info in the experiment.
(That Obama had no problem accepting this fake info is NOT funny, but more evidence of the fraudulent & illegal operation he is running - as if any more were needed. Too bad the FEC only fines people AFTER they use illegal money to buy an election.)
If Obama really were as good as he thinks, and if Americans really were as excited by him as he pretends based on his (illegal) internet fundraising, that fundraising wouldn’t need to be illegal, now, would it?

Friday, October 24th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Education, Politics.. which, of course, is why the 2nd Amendment exists - and why it is #2, and not #3 or #4, etc… because FREE SPEECH MUST BE DEFENDED. (No - Liberal speech codes are NOT free speech. Educated people understand this.)
Too bad the Baby Boomer Left doesn’t understand that. Thank YOU! Unionized Teachers!! AGAIN!!!

A brief explanation of the Obama Theory of Economics:
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyIn a local restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At[…]

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 under Domestic, Miscellaneous, PoliticsShe’s not the reason Americans can’t stand their politicians.

The abuse being heaped on Sarah Palin is such a cheap shot.
The complaint against the Alaska governor, at its most basic, is that she doesn’t qualify for admission to the national political fraternity. Boy, that’s rich. Behold the shabby frat house that says it’s above her pay grade.
Congress has the lowest approval rating ever registered in the history of polling (12%!). She isn’t the reason polls are showing people[…]
