Obama is busily pandering to the American “working class” and his wife is out “helping” him with comments like this one on the tax rebate/stimulus checks (paid only went to those who paid less than $600 in income taxes).

Perhaps this behavior is something to be admired and I just am missing out.

Obama and his wife Michelle earn annually over $500,000. Cool and good for them.

On the campaign trail he talks about being green – but increasingly he is talking about the economy, about being thrifty.

All fine and good.

But – get this, from the Times (London) Aug 7, 2008:

Teacher Unions

From the Wall Street Journal today:

$2.3M fighting against school vouchers - even though even Washington DC Democrat politicans admit they work.

$20K to poll on a state constitutional convention.

$60K to oppose property-tax cuts.

“NEA finished 2007-08 with a surplus of nearly $5.9 million, which means the union will enter the 2008-09 school year with almost $20 million available to spend.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if the union that mis-educates America’s future spent its time and money on the classroom instead of partisan politics?

Can’t have a blog on the Worst Generation (Baby Boomers) without linking to this column by Thomas Sowell in which we are referred to as, “The Gratingest Generation.”

Good name. My cohorts certanly grate on me.

And why GenX and GenY are not passing laws outlawing our holding office, why they are supporting the last of the Boom (Obama) wanting to shove the same old tired selfish 1960s Baby Boomer politics and spending down their throats is beyond me.

Just when you thought Baby Boomers lacked any sense of irony, or that Liberals had no sense of humor, along comes Hillary with an Op-Ed in today’s WSJ hectoring the Bush administration for a lack of honesty.

Seriously. A Clinton lecturing on honesty.

Having lost the Democrat nomination, evidently Hill has decided to become a stand-up comedienne.

“Enemy” is NOT a Difficult Concept

What is it about the word “Enemy” that seems to boggle so many Baby Boomer minds?

It isn’t as though it is an ambiguous word. It isn’t. It means: Bad guys who want to kill you.

Dictionary.com defines it as follows:

“A person who feels hatred for, fosters harmful designs against, or engages in antagonistic activities against another; an adversary or opponent.”

We all understand that Democrats don’t understand the above, that everything bad in the world is America’s fault and we really don’t have any enemies other than the Dead White European Males who gave the world liberty, freedom and the rule of[…]

Stanford Economist on Obama Tax Plans

Regardless of where you are in the political arena you need to understand Obama’s stated tax plans.

Here  in today’s Wall Street Journal, Michael J. Boskin, Professor of Economics @ Stanford, briefly describes and presents a table on the effect on rates, etc., of Obama’s plans.

You should be familiar with it prior to voting. Taxes and economics affect all of us - whether we believe in the Liberal or Conservative worldview.

The first is so much rah-rah from the GOP Congressmen staying in Friday when Pelosi shut down Congress to go on vacation in the midst of a Republican speech from the floor. She ordered the lights turned out, CSPAN’s cameras turned off and the sound system shut down. A Congressman re-started the sound system for a bit until she heard and shut it down again.
