Electoral College Re-Run?

Given what happened in the 2000 election with the Electoral College and the popular vote, and given that right now McCain seems to lead in the Electoral College, and Obama in the popular vote, what do you think will be the consequences of a rerun of 2000, in which the GOP wins the Electoral College and the Democrats the popular vote?

Has anything changed in the past eight years? Nope. The Electoral College still triumphs.

Would the Democrats accept that? They didn’t last time.

Would they call for the removal of the Electoral College? Probably – they can submit a Constitutional Amendment and good luck with that.

But what about the immediate reaction? Would Americans overturn their 219-year tradition of a peaceful change of government? Are Democrats willing to go that far?

Will “Democratic” “Liberals” accept that Obama won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College – and not riot?

Do Democrats accept any loss in the voting booth without attempting to overturn the voters’ wishes?

When writing about the Bradley Effect during the Democrat primaries, did the media ever note that it was Democrats about whom they were writing, Democrats who seemed unable to pull the lever for a Black candidate from their party of inclusiveness?

And why will those Bradley-effect Democrats change their minds now?

Will the media fan the flames of racial hatred should the above occur?

If Democrats and the media don’t like the recession and low dollar now, wait until they see what happens if they riot in the event of the above.

About Alex Scipio

About Alex Scipio: Alex moved out of the People's Republic of California to the Free State of Arizona, finally tiring of the lack of the Bill of Rights, the overgrown idiocracy, and the catering to non-Americans & welfare recipients. He still wonders how America got from Truman, Eisenhower, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan to the Liberal and Conservative extremes so badly managing America today. And, yes, islam DOES need to be annihilated. And doing what he can to get folks away from the extremes of political life.
