Can’t have a blog on the Worst Generation (Baby Boomers) without linking to this column by Thomas Sowell in which we are referred to as, “The Gratingest Generation.”
Good name. My cohorts certanly grate on me.
And why GenX and GenY are not passing laws outlawing our holding office, why they are supporting the last of the Boom (Obama) wanting to shove the same old tired selfish 1960s Baby Boomer politics and spending down their throats is beyond me.
After all, we Boomers won’t be paying for all the trouble we have caused, all the money and programs we have demanded, GenX andGenY will have to pay for us.
And they are nuts not to be stopping our grubby grabbing while they can – any time they can.
GenX and GenY ought to be voting against Baby Boomer tax-and-spend any chance they get. There aren’t enough GenX and GenY taxpayers to pay for what Boomers are demanding. They need to stop Boomer politicians from being elected or no GenX or GenY will be able to afford a house or a vacation or any kids or college.
Of course, if Boomer politcians had outlawed teachers unions – the most destructive thing in America and for our future – GenX and GenY already would have figured this out and begun throwing Boomers out of office.
GenX and Gen Y need to outlaw unions for teachers or we will have even more generations less well-educated than their parents – something that fundamentally goes against human and societal evolution. But of course Boomers were less well-educated than their parents.
The Greatest Generation kinda fell down in the child-rearing and teaching of personal responsibility arena. Which is why, of course, we have Baby Boomers as the Worst Generation or the Gratingest Generation or the ME Generation or whatever appropriate moniker you prefer.
Past time for us to go. GenX and GenY need to work on that — soon — or they’ll be broke their entire lives just paying for us! Go read Boomsday by Buckley. Good premise – didn’t carry it far enough.
