Michelle Obama’s Children

Last night Michelle Obama re-introduced herself to the American people - at least those watching the Democrat Convention. She did so articulately, charmingly and with nary a whisper of the anti-Americanism she has so often displayed on the stump for Barack.

Good for her.

What seemed surreal, however, was her constant play on the theme of her children.

We all know that Liberals don’t have kids. Liberals don’t like real children getting in the way of their own childish immaturity and unwillingness to grow up and take responsibility for their own lives.

‘Not Exactly Barack’

I have no infatuation with Terry Anderson, an African-American Los Angeles Talk Radio guy. He spouts all kinds of Far-Right hate, and doesn’t seem to be helping anyone deal with the nonsensical Baby Boomers in the extremes of either party. Recently, however, he did run down a list of incorrect claims Sen Obama has made.

But – are these statements by Obama correct?

Listen to a Democratic Iraq

The article linked here notes that Iraq is demanding a date-certain for a pullout of all foreign forces.

The absurdity of the refusal of the Bush administration to accede to this is phenomenal.

America went into Iraq to overthrow a Stalinist dictator and give the country of Iraq back to the people of Iraq.

The participation in several elections, the Anbar Awakening, the reduction in violence, the willingness of Shia and Sunni to get along all in the government, all argue that the goals of the invasion have been reached.

Given what happened in the 2000 election with the Electoral College and the popular vote, and given that right now McCain seems to lead in the Electoral College, and Obama in the popular vote, what do you think will be the consequences of a rerun of 2000, in which the GOP wins the Electoral College and the Democrats the popular vote?

Has anything changed in the past eight years? Nope. The Electoral College still triumphs.

Would the Democrats accept that? They didn’t last time.

Barack, Michelle and George Obama

Sen. Obama and his wife present themselves as concerned about the downtrodden, the average Joe and Jane, those who try but are having a hard time making it.

Sen. Obama wants to increase the tax load on the “rich” (whoever they are) to help the “poor” move forward.

But – doesn’t charity begin at home? Doesn’t one ensure the comfort, the education, the standard of living of one’s own family first, before one looks outside?

Isn’t this just basic? Just foundational to the family, to society, the culture and the country?
