Crushing Dissent the Democrats’ Way
Thursday, August 28th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Education, PoliticsThe ad linked here is only on the web now. It needs wide circulation. It needs network buys.
The idea that half of America actually wants for President a man who has never held a job - who probably never even had a paper route or mowed a neighbor’s lawn for a buck - is appalling.
The idea that we have the opportunity for our first post-Baby Boomer President (a VERY GOOD THING), but that he is only recycling Muskie and McCarthy and McGovern and the utterly failed and discredited Carter, and who is the most Liberal voter in the Senate, truly[…]

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsLast night Michelle Obama re-introduced herself to the American people - at least those watching the Democrat Convention. She did so articulately, charmingly and with nary a whisper of the anti-Americanism she has so often displayed on the stump for Barack.
Good for her.
What seemed surreal, however, was her constant play on the theme of her children.
We all know that Liberals don’t have kids. Liberals don’t like real children getting in the way of their own childish immaturity and unwillingness to grow up and take responsibility for their own lives.
Blue state demographics provide excellent empirical evidence. All Blue States not bordering[…]
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsI have no infatuation with Terry Anderson, an African-American Los Angeles Talk Radio guy. He spouts all kinds of Far-Right hate, and doesn’t seem to be helping anyone deal with the nonsensical Baby Boomers in the extremes of either party. Recently, however, he did run down a list of incorrect claims Sen Obama has made.
But – are these statements by Obama correct?
Not Exactly
- Selma March Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google ‘Obama Selma ‘ for his full March 4, 2007[…]
Listen to a Democratic Iraq
Monday, August 25th, 2008 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, Politics, War and TerrorismThe article linked here notes that Iraq is demanding a date-certain for a pullout of all foreign forces.
The absurdity of the refusal of the Bush administration to accede to this is phenomenal.
America went into Iraq to overthrow a Stalinist dictator and give the country of Iraq back to the people of Iraq.
The participation in several elections, the Anbar Awakening, the reduction in violence, the willingness of Shia and Sunni to get along all in the government, all argue that the goals of the invasion have been reached.
Time to go home.
Set the date.
What’s the problem?
If “conditions on the ground” at the[…]

Friday, August 22nd, 2008 under Foreign Policy and International, War and TerrorismYou may want to view this series of videos (there are 7, only the first is linked here). Following her presentation are several minutes of Q&A. Very good.
The speaker is a best-selling author, a Syrian (now American) who writes on Islam, is a former news anchor, etc.
Good watching - very informative. She also has several books out - best-sellers.

Excellent Questions for Obama
Friday, August 22nd, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsFrom this column today by Jonathan Rauch.
Some excellent questions for Obama.
* Does he think Bush administration officials who authorized rough interrogation methods should be put on trial for war crimes, as a growing chorus in his party is demanding? If not, why doesn’t he renounce such talk? If so, does he want his own administration second-guessed in the same way? As president, could he live with the overcautiousness and fear that criminal sanctions would instill within the CIA, the Pentagon, and the White House?
* Assuming that he keeps his promise to close the Guantanamo prison camp, what does he propose[…]
Continue ReadingElectoral College Re-Run?
Thursday, August 21st, 2008 under Domestic, Politics, RaceGiven what happened in the 2000 election with the Electoral College and the popular vote, and given that right now McCain seems to lead in the Electoral College, and Obama in the popular vote, what do you think will be the consequences of a rerun of 2000, in which the GOP wins the Electoral College and the Democrats the popular vote?
Has anything changed in the past eight years? Nope. The Electoral College still triumphs.
Would the Democrats accept that? They didn’t last time.
Would they call for the removal of the Electoral College? Probably – they can submit a Constitutional Amendment and[…]
Continue ReadingRussia, Georgia, Europe, Winter and Natural Gas Pipelines
Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 under Foreign Policy and International, The Rest of the WorldYou know what’s going to happen in Russia, right?
Rather than leaving as they promised, Russian forces are digging in. So much for Russian promises - they are just like Soviet promises - you know, the kind the Left likes to count on as “diplomatic” or as not being “cowboy”, i.e. honest.
Gee - what’s coming down the road in Europe?
Winter
Who controls the flow of natural gas to Europe?
Russia
Will Russia turn off the flow of NG to freeze the Eurinals until they say - hey, we were just kidding about Georgia - and go ahead - take Ukraine, too, just turn on our NG!
Of course….
This[…]
Continue ReadingBarack, Michelle and George Obama
Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsSen. Obama and his wife present themselves as concerned about the downtrodden, the average Joe and Jane, those who try but are having a hard time making it.
Sen. Obama wants to increase the tax load on the “rich” (whoever they are) to help the “poor” move forward.
But – doesn’t charity begin at home? Doesn’t one ensure the comfort, the education, the standard of living of one’s own family first, before one looks outside?
Isn’t this just basic? Just foundational to the family, to society, the culture and the country?
“I’m my brothers’ keeper. I’m my sisters’ keeper… we rise and fall together,” Barack[…]
Continue ReadingBig Oil
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 under Domestic, Miscellaneous, Taxes & EconomyThe following was written by Bill Phillips, a descendent of the Phillips oil family, creators of Phillips Petroleum Company and Phillips66 - now part of Conoco Phillips
“Big Oil”
Did you know that the United States does NOT have any big oil companies. It’s true: the largest American oil company, Exxon Mobil, is only the 14th largest in the world, and is dwarfed by the really big oil companies–all owned by foreign governments or government-sponsored monopolies–that dominate the world’s oil supply.
…
With 94% of the world’s oil supply locked up by foreign governments, most of which are hostile to the United States, the[…]
