Pop Quiz
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Education, PoliticsPop Quiz: if Al Gore’s or Barack Obama’s or Nancy Pelosi’s food budget doubles from 0.1% to 0.2% of their net annual earnings, but if those who vote for and believe in these Democrat politicians see their food budget double from 12% to 24% of their much smaller annual earnings because of the policies of Gore and Obama and Pelosi – why do those people still vote for Democrats?
Mid-Term: If not enforcing current immigration policies, as Democrats insist somehow is correct -even though illegal, results in an overflow of low-skill workers, driving down the wages of the American worker, why do American[…]
Continue ReadingDems Correct on Health Care for Illegals
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 under Domestic, Immigration, PoliticsObama now supports the far-left Demo party line on health care for illegals.
And the Dems are correct on this; the GOP incorrect. See here for more info on immigration.
What, exactly, do the Right Winger Boomers want? A bunch of unhealthy illegals running around? Do they think that denying illegals medical care will cause them to go home to a country they risked much to leave?
This is like voting against education for illegals and their kids: Just plain ignorant. They are here. There is no way to throw out 12 or 20 or 30M people – and no good reason to do[…]
Continue ReadingBarry’s Pearl Harbor “Bomb” [sic]
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 under Domestic, Education, PoliticsIf anyone, anytime, anyplace needs further proof of the ignorance and naiveté of Obama on history, defense, national security, etc., one need look no further than this video of a recent speech of his.
“The bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor.”
THE bomb?
Earth to Barry: Hundreds of bombs and torpedoes fell on Pearl Harbor. The bomb?
This is a guy half this country is willing to have as President? The most powerful position on the planet? “57 states”?? “The bomb”?
If this man ever was taught anything as a kid, in his Madrassah or when he attended a real school, if he ever watched a[…]
Continue ReadingMisinformation and Elections
Thursday, July 10th, 2008 under Climate, Domestic, Education, PoliticsYesterday in Seattle I listened to a radio commercial for the Democrat nominee for Governor of Washington state.
It was amazing in its disregard for the truth.
First it blamed all the ills of the world on Bush; that’s to be expected this time around. But then it went off the deep end with the following, none of it remotely truthful or factual.
Republicans will overturn Roe. Hate to break it to Dems, but no president has anything to do with Roe and can’t change it in any way shape or form. And - if it were overturned, the result would be immediate legislation in all[…]
Continue ReadingApproval of Congress
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsDemocrats now run Congress as we all know. And Democrats have been making hay all year with the public approval ratings of President Bush. The linked rating is 32% approval, by the way.
So that means public approval ratingts are fair game and must be used when voting, discussing political policies, etc., right?
So - when the approval ratings of CONGRESS are in single-digits (9%), I guess the Democrats believe we the public ought to take them into account and vote the Democrats out of office, right?
I mean, according to the polls they love so much, Bush is 356% better than Congress.
To think that[…]
Continue ReadingElectric Cars? Really?
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Politics, Taxes & EconomyAccording to the WSJ, electric cars are closer than we think.
Is this good or bad?
According to The Tax Foundation, the three major domestic oil companies (Exxon, Conoco, Chevron), paid a total of $47,858,000,000 in taxes in the First Quarter of 2008. (Their net profit during the Quarter was $28B less than their tax bill. How cool is that?) (The majority, but not all, of these taxes were paid to the US; the taxes paid to the US by BP and Shell, non-US companies, are not listed, so this may be a wash.)
Over a full year Exxon, Conoco and Chevron pay[…]
Continue ReadingGore’s Energy Usage - Liberals Don’t Believe their own Words
Sunday, July 6th, 2008 under Climate, DomesticI have friends who still believe the nonsense of anthropogenic global warming despite all evidence to the contrary and the thousands of real climatologists who think it’s bunk. Largely this belief is held by those who think Al Gore believes what he is saying.
Here’s an update on Big Al’s energy usage @ home from the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.
“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when[…]

How About Change we can Afford?
Friday, July 4th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsRemember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1. Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2. Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3. The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1. Consumer confidence plummet;
2. The cost of regular gasoline soar to nearly $5.00 a gallon;
3. Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4. American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5. Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6. 2% of American homes are in foreclosure.
America voted for change[…]
Continue ReadingObama Walk vs Talk: Pay Women Less
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 under Domestic, Miscellaneous, PoliticsThe below is from this article.
Hillary fans take note: Obama is NOT on your side in the pay-discrimination wars. McCain IS on your side.
“On average, women working in Obama’s Senate office were paid at least $6,000 below the average man working for the Illinois senator. That’s according to data calculated from the Report of the Secretary of the Senate, which covered the six-month period ending Sept. 30, 2007. Of the five people in Obama’s Senate office who were paid $100,000 or more on an annual basis, only one — Obama’s administrative manager — was a woman.
“The average pay for the 33 men[…]
