Evidently the “Evangelicals” are getting their shorts in a knot about a possible McCain-Romney ticket.
I guess they’d rather have the most inexperienced, historically illiterate, naïve super-Liberal in the history of American Politics as President.
What has the Far Right’s opposition to abortion cost the country? A huge faction of Center and Youth voters not ever considering voting for the GOP. And what has been the consequence? Unionized teachers ruining our future as they ruin our education system, and judicial activism running roughshod over the People.
Every other issue pales in comparison to the destruction of our culture, our society, our future when compared with the destruction wrought by unionized teachers and the impact of their ignorance and fads on the Baby Boom – Left and Right.
And make no mistake – America’s cultural decline is the fault of the Far Right.
Exactly what problem the Far Right has with the Left removing themselves from the gene pool is beyond me.
For McCain to win he will need the Center, the Right and the Lieberman Democrats (i.e. those in the FDR-Truman-JFK mold).
Guaranteed the Center of this country will not vote for intelligent policies of lower taxes, better education, strong foreign policy as long as the Far Right lives and breathes. If the GOP caves to them and to Dr. Dobson and the always-entertaining but rarely insightful Ann Coulter, look for decades in the Wilderness as ignorant, destructive Leftie Boomer socialist policies ruin this country.
McCain has a real shot at reinvigorating the GOP – by dragging it toward the Center.
He must dump the Far Right to do so. They have held far too much power for far too long and are willing to destroy America’s future by giving it over to inexperienced Elmer Gantry’s like Gore and Obama all for the sake of a done deal – abortion, and a who-cares? – homosexuality.
Dumping the Far Right – loudly, publicly, on issues from abortion and homosexuality to immigration (on which the extremes of both sides are just plain wrong), will gain the Center Right from both parties and move this country forward – rather than backwards toward socialism’s failed policies.
Neither the world nor America can afford too many presidents like Carter or Obama.
America and the world will continue getting them as long as the Far Right owns the GOP.
Time to throw them under the bus.
