How, exactly, are we – as a country – going to get past racism by refusing to acknowledge where it actually exists and combatting it there and then?
I know it’s fun for the Democrats and the Media to pretend that racism exists only in the bad-old-GOP ranks. It’s also ignorant and immature.
The GOP was the party of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It was the Party that passed the 1955 Voting Right Act against intense Democrat oppostion. The Party that passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, against intense Democrat opposition. The Party that tried to legislate anti-lynching laws in 1927 – but the Democrat leadership refused to bring the legislation to the House Floor for a vote.
And now, in 2008, we have a nationally-recognized reporter for an internationally-recognized news weekly, writing, “… the white working class, which overwhelmingly rejected Obama. And in state after state, black Americans rejected Clinton.”
Here’s a truthful and accurate rendition of the same facts and story: “…and white Democrats, who overwhelmingly rejected Obama. And in state after state black Democrats rejected Clinton.”
Any narrative that white Americans as a whole rejected Obama because of his race has no foundation in fact. Nor do we know that black Americans rejected Clinton. The only facts we have now are that white Democrats rejected Obama and black Democrats rejected Clinton. That’d be the party of inclusiveness.
Will GOP voters reject him? I sure hope so. But not because of his race, which is immaterial to most adults. (I don’t even know any adults who worry about the color of one’s skin – only Democrats do that.)
If Obama is rejected in November it will be beacuse of his policies, policies which have been rejected in every election in which they have been tried, for over 40 years. Only the guilt-ridden liberal elite (Democrat) and, for quite obvious reasons, African Americans (Democrat) care about his race.
Obama’s ignorance, naivete and far-left Liberal positions are more than enough for America to reject him.
Should he lose, of course, Democrats and the media will blame the GOP for being racist, just as they cover-up the racism of Democrats in thier own primaries.
It’s tough to move forward when the media is not presenting the truth.
