Why is Asking Obama tough questions “Racist”?
Monday, June 23rd, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsAt some point someone somewhere, somehow will need to find a way to ask the media and pundits at large what is more important in selecting a president - competency or ideology.
The press, too, lives in America and by its laws; they, too, buy gas and food and pay mortgages; they, too, have children they don’t want blown up.
Already it is more than clear, however, that Obama’s race supersedes any issue of competency.
One fears and assumes this only will get worse as the general election campaign begins and wears on. Clearly any attack on character, ideas, associations, experience, anything at[…]

Monday, June 23rd, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsA DNC America Just Like Argentina.
Far wiser and more experienced than I on the subjct of Argentina’s going from the Breadbasket of South America to a deadbeat basket-case, is Mary Anastasia O’Grady of the Wall Street Journal.
And waht she has to say today is very instructive of where the DNC wants to lead our country.
Do YOU want to go there? Better vote appropriately.

Monday, June 23rd, 2008 under Foreign Policy and International, War and TerrorismFrom a German national:
“Very few people were true Nazis, but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.”
We are told again and again by “experts” and “talking heads” that Islam[…]
Continue ReadingObama’s Nukes
Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 under Domestic, Foreign Policy and International, PoliticsA large number of people seem to believe Iran is not developing nuclear weapons, and that Israel need not do anything about these weapons not being developed.
The absurdity fascinates thinking people.
Of course Iran is developing nukes.
They sit on one of the largest oil fields in the world. If they had an energy problem they’d be spending money building refineries rather than importing gasoline. This isn’t about energy. (Saudi Arabia, also sitting on an ocean of crude, also is pursuing nukes – they don’t need energy alternatives, either.)
Alternative energy? Global warming? OK – how about solar? It isn’t like they lack[…]
Continue ReadingVoting is Wasted on the Wrong People
Saturday, June 21st, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, PoliticsIn Frank Capra’s 1946 film, It’s a Wonderful Life, the Man on the Porch exclaims in frustration, “Ah, youth is wasted on the wrong people!”
Looking at the youth of today, un- or ill-educated by unionized teachers, relying on their Baby Boomer parents for knowledge or wisdom they just don’t have (having been the first cohort exposed to unionized teachers and inarguably the Worst Generation), let’s re-phrase the quote, shall we?
“Voting is wasted on the wrong people!”
Why don’t we require voters to be educated?
Or at least not so young as to lack any knowledge, wisdom or experience?
Obama’s getting massive numbers of[…]
Continue ReadingDetritus of the ’60’s — Baby Boomers
Saturday, June 21st, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, HollywoodYou can safely assume I am not an avid reader of (gazer at?) Playboy magazine.
With that as a given, a recent interview (July 2008) was brought to my attention by a friend. The interviewee is Dr. Drew Pinsky. What he has to say is important.
Pinksy concentrates on the pathologies of the 1960s brought to us by the Baby Boomers, the worst generation, and on what they have wrought. He doesn’t go forward to the kinds of politics these ridiculously narcissistic, nihilistic, un-educated and moronic people have cultivated in our once-civil society.
You can watch Congress on C-SPAN for that, Congress now being dominated by[…]
Continue ReadingAmerican Education is a Disaster
Thursday, June 19th, 2008 under Domestic, EducationThe only people not recognizing this fact (not opinion, fact) are the Teachers unions, those they support with campaign contributions, and the media supporting the recipients of those contributions.
If that leaves you wondering who is the enemy of our children’s future, it is the Democrat Party.
Republicans have their own sets of idiocies, but the future of education in this country is a disaster given the current Democrat Party.
This should surprise no one.
An unreported fact of Democrats is that they don’t have children. Scoff all you want – and then go look at the demographics of the Blue states. Absent illegal[…]
Continue ReadingCan America’s Education System be Fixed?
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 under Domestic, EducationHow do we fix a lack of education? Can we still do so?
When the teachers don’t know how to teach or what to teach – facts indicated by the poor performance of our youth in international testing since unionized teachers took over – it becomes increasingly difficult for their students, in turn, to become intelligent, good teachers when they grow up.
A Baby Boomer teacher with good knowledge and skills is rare. Having been the first generation “taught” by unionized teachers this is not surprising, but it is increasingly disheartening and problematic.
A good GenX teacher is harder to find. A GenY[…]
Continue ReadingCan America’s Government be Fixed?
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008 under Domestic, PoliticsBaby. Boomers, the first generation educated by unionized teachers, are a disaster. They now are running the government.
Here are some of their programs:
1. We pay farmers not to grow crops
2. We pay for meals for public school kids whose parents can’t afford meals – but who can buy those kids cell phones and video games
3. We have two enormous and unsustainable entitlements in Medicare and Social Security. Everyone knows they are unsustainable, yet Baby Boomer politicians are not fixing them
4. We have had two Baby Boomer presidents, both of whom have embarrassed America before the world. (Clinton goes without saying; Bush 43, through his inability[…]
IMMIGRATION REALITY
Monday, June 16th, 2008 under Domestic, ImmigrationBoth sides are missing the only significant point in the immigration debate: Mexico would collapse without the money sent home from its emigrants to America.
A collapsed Mexico would be bad for the United States. Very bad. (Pretty bad for Mexicans, too.)
In economics there is the concept of a “multiplier”. Money paid as wages or salary is spent at the grocery store, whose employees are paid and spend the money at the gas station, whose employees buy groceries. Money circulates several times through an economy. The generally-accepted multiplier in America is 6.
The $43B sent annually to Mexico removes 6 X $43B[…]
