Why Don’t Liberals Want the Poor to Succeed?

Monday, June 30th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & Economy

Here we go again.

Just like the NGOs that need disasters to survive and work against everything that mitigates death during natural disasters – foremost among these being the wealth generated by capitalist economies and the building codes that then can be implemented and policed, now we have microfinancing lifting the poor out of poverty in developing countries, and the same kind of NGOs and non-profits whine about it because microfinancers make a profit.

Hello! Central planning and socialist economics don’t work. Very, very demonstrably don’t work.

Pop quiz: Which country is/was more economically stable and providing a better future for its citizens[…]

Why Do Democrats Hate Hard-Working Americans?

Monday, June 30th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics, Taxes & Economy

So Democrats are the Party of the working man and woman, right?

And the working man and woman are hardest-hit by high energy prices, right?

And so Congress is doing everything it can to rein-in oil prices, and Sen Obama has an energy program ready to go to help the working men and women, right?

Wrong.

A political party that cared about the citizens of this country would take the time to understand that energy – like everything else in the world, whether or not they like it – is about supply and demand.

India and China are increasing their energy needs tremendously, but we[…]

Fixing the Education Mess

Monday, June 30th, 2008 under Domestic, Education

What would happen do you think, if the top graduates of some of America’s best colleges, say, “eleven per cent of Yale’s senior class, 9% of Harvard’s and 10% of Georgetown’s,” for example,  joined Teach For America to become teachers in “the nation’s worst public schools” following a quick, five-week boot camp?

And if they agreed to do so for average salaries, ranging from a rural $25K to a NYC $44K, commensurate with or slightly below what they would be making in the private sector

Don’t allow the unions to get ahold of them. Don’t allow them to be brainwashed into the “Education[…]

What Does Obama Understand?

Sunday, June 29th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics

Does Obama understand anything other than machine politics?

His Social Security “cure” not only won’t cure it but will return America to the historically high tax rates of Jimmy Carter. We all remember how well that turned out, right? Prime Interest rate of over 18%, Inflation over 20%.

“In fact, the more taxes his plan collects, the worse Social Security’s long-term situation gets.”

That sounds like someone who really lacks a grasp of the most fundamental parts of the issue, doesn’t it?

OK, what about the pandering he is doing to women? Again – a total lack of understanding of the issues. He still[…]

Billing the Winner

Sunday, June 29th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics

Hillary – what a babe!

She loses and then bills the guy who beat her for her costs to compete with him. How cool is that?

What a great idea! When Phil loses to Tiger – he bills him! When the Yankees lose to the Mets – they bill them! When the Dolphins lose to the Patriots – they bill them!

Why didn’t anyone else think of that?

Oh – and Hillary also wants a jet to run her around. And Phil wants to use Tiger’s jet….

This is the kind of leadership we need. Got to go to protect Kosovars? Bill ‘em! Got to[…]

Saudi Nukes - Good or Bad?

Thursday, June 26th, 2008 under Foreign Policy and International, War and Terrorism

Bush and Rice are helping the Saudis build nuclear plants. Nuke plants soon become nuke weapons.

Question: Is this good or bad?

These two Muslim states, Shia Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia, foment and fund Islamist terror globally.

We – the West, the UN, every country with leaders with working brain cells – are pulling out all the diplomatic stops to convince Iran not to build nukes. Diplomacy will fail as it is not backed by force – the entire world knows that America will not attack Iran – and no one else can.

(An Obama presidency will remove any vestige of any threat[…]

Obesity, Gym Class and Home Ec

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 under Baby Boomers, Domestic, Education

It’s been more than a year of an entire new set of nonsense from the Boomer Left on our behavior patterns. As usual the entire concept of cause-and-effect somehow eludes these people.

What am I talking about? Childhood obesity. Heck – any obesity.

Let’s see if it’s really that difficult, OK?

Now, I’m only 53, but ‘way back in the day we had Gym Class, starting in what then was called “Jr. High School,” and covered grades 7-9. In 6th Grade a counselor from the Jr. High came to our elementary school and told us about what to expect the next year. One[…]

Know Obama’s Positions Before You Vote

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics

If you haven’t read this column - you definitely ought to - and pass it on to anyone you think may be thinking of voting for Obama.

If they still want to vote for him, that’s their choice. But they certainly need to be aware of his stances and how similar stances have played out historically.

What is Obama’s Background?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 under Domestic, Politics

He is running for President, right? Has never held a real job, right? So maybe we ought to begin looking into his background.

It’s not as though the media will do so. And it’s not as though McCain will do so.

Some people need to begin getting a handle on this lightweight before we actualy make him the most powerful man on the planet, right?

Here is a column with some information from his past and from some who knew him back in the day.

It’s worth reading and following the links it contains.

Nonsensical Voters

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 under Domestic, Education, Politics

Ys, I know it’s silly to discuss nonsensical voters for two reasons. 1: They don’t go looking for information which might shake their worldview; 2: it’s like yelling at customers and expecting them to still like you.

Nonetheless, yet another poll has found that voters hate the Congress and the actions of the incumbents.

This is becoming a tiring and repetitious claim.

The nonsensical part is that these respondents pretend that it’s that important to them, yet I would bet that NONE of them will vote against their incumbent based on this topic. If they did Congress would take the polls seriously. The[…]
