Why is Al Gore so Annoying?

Among the most irritating and annoying aspects of Al Gore’s presence to intelligent people is his manner of speaking. In tone, choice of words and in style and substance, he treats everyone always as completely stupid.

“The earth … has… a… f-e-v-e-r.”

Please – is this Sesame Street?

And this from a man who flunked out of Divinity School. (How, exactly, does one flunk out of Divinity School?)

Kerry talked down to everyone, too. No wonder these guys lost the presidency. And, yes, Gore lost, it wasn’t stolen. In fact if the voters who knew him best – his constituents in TN – had voted for him, FL never would have mattered at all.

Dukakis asked farmers in Kansas to grow Belgian Endive. Seriously. Obama now asks Iowa farmers about the price of arugula – a crop not grown within hundreds of miles – in Whole Foods Markets – a store not found in their state.

Can you say, “out of touch”?

Liberals – and the media enablers – are quite convinced that they are not only smarter than the average bear, but smarter than any Republican possibly could be. (This is especially amusing when coming from high-school dropout actors.)

The Right often yammers defensively about the elitism of the Left. But has anyone really taken a look at the issues?

A few facts: Red State SATs are higher than Blue State SATs. Based on Red/Blue state result from the most recent presidential election, 2004, and the 2007 SAT state scores, here are the facts:

Red state SAT average: 1624
Blue state SAT average: 1531

These results are not at all surprising for two reasons.

1: Teacher unions hold less sway in Red states, and,

2: Red states have kids, so voters care about education (which explains 1, above). (All Blue states are in net population decline; Liberals basically don’t have kids.)

Given these facts, why would anyone expect kids from Blue states to outperform kids from Red states? Or that the Blue-state electorate would be smarter than the Red state electorate?

So – begin with the fact that Red staters are smarter. Why is it, then, that liberal elites insist on talking down to those smarter than they, writing books with such inane titles as What’s the Matter With Kansas, and generally feeling (for that’s what liberals do – feel, not think) they are smarter than people they lag in intelligence?

Listen to the Obamas – either of them – and you know that they just accept that they are smarter than everyone else.

Really? Based on what, Affirmative Action?

Of course Sen. Obama doesn’t seem to understand some pretty basic issues, even when fed to him by debate monitors: When federal tax rates drop, federal revenues increase. Every… single … time.

One big reason for the ignorant condescending attitude of liberals towards those smarter than they may be this: Have you ever noticed that while smart people know they are smart, stupid people don’t know that they are stupid? Ever wondered why that is the case?

Turns out a study was done on just this issue a few years back. Titled “Unskilled and unaware of it,” and published by the American Psychological Association, it shows exactly that: Intelligent people understand their limitations and decide and act within what they know. Unintelligent people don’t understand their limitations and so act and decide outside their level of intelligence – and think they are smarter than everyone else.

So there you have it.

There is just no other way to explain how and why Liberals think they are smarter than intelligent people, when they so obviously are not.

Stupid people don’t understand their stupidity.

About Alex Scipio

About Alex Scipio: Alex moved out of the People's Republic of California to the Free State of Arizona, finally tiring of the lack of the Bill of Rights, the overgrown idiocracy, and the catering to non-Americans & welfare recipients. He still wonders how America got from Truman, Eisenhower, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan to the Liberal and Conservative extremes so badly managing America today. And, yes, islam DOES need to be annihilated. And doing what he can to get folks away from the extremes of political life.
