The ‘modern’ ‘Liberal’ truly boggles the mind.
One may cringe at the adjective given their Luddite view of the world, and at the noun, given their illiberal views.
Certainly the “Liberal” or “Progressive” of today is not the educated Classical Liberal of a Daniel Patrick Moynihan or other true liberals. His – or her – intellectual laziness and demand that the world be as they like –rather than as it is or as they are willing to work to make it, to demand policies that have failed again and again throughout history is amazingly ignorant and stupefyingly stupid.
“For the great majority of mankind are satisfied with appearances as though they were realities. and are often more influenced by things that seem than by those that are.” – Nicolo Machiavelli
Their worldview simply is insupportable with the facts.
“You are entitled to your opinion. You are not entitled to you own facts.” – Anonymous
Yet these people, in direct contradiction of the facts, pretend to the following:
To be the “Party of the Working Class,” while ensuring a free-flow of illegal immigrants ensuring a constantly low wage for unskilled labor. If they represented the “Working Class,” whatever that is in our post-industrial economy, why do their policies keep low the wages of working Americans? And why doesn’t the Press ever ask this of Democrat politicians? I mean a “Living wage” is one thing, but how about the right conditions so that this wage is market-driven rather than government-mandated?
And, why is it that the definition of the “Working Class” never seems to include the tens of thousands of people who start their own businesses, work 90 hours a week to make their dreams come true, and employ all of those either lacking the skills, talent, motivation or experience to run their own businesses, and who aren’t protected by unions from poor performance?
One must be extraordinarily ignorant to believe that a Party maximizing the unskilled labor pool is on the side of Labor – skilled or otherwise. But maybe that’s why the teachers’ unions contribute so much to the Democrats? To ensure the low-level of education unionized teachers have given us, ensuring a maximization of working-class voters voting for those politicians putting teacher jobs ahead of America’s future?
They wouldn’t do that, would they? Democrats care about children, too, right?
No. Democrats don’t care about children. Democrats don’t have children. Why would they care about policies that benefit families, children, schools, etc.? If Democrats believed in children, they’d pass legislation improving education, improving the wages of labor so that low-skill workers could help their families move forward, they’d support Social Security privatization so that people –families – could benefit from their working years, create capital and pass it along to the next generation – especially in minority families where workers die sooner, often never receiving any benefit from the wages they have paid in to SS for decades.
