The Role of the Right in the Decline of American Culture

In the recent brouhahas regarding Supreme Court decisions, the largest issue is ignored: the decline of America culture. Counterintuitively, this decline must be attributed to the Right; it is the grown-ups who are allowing this to happen.

This decline is due to the antipathy of the Right to homosexuals and abortion. The Conservative stance on these two issues alone has ensured that for many voters the only choice is between competing Democrats rather than between ideas and Parties.

Teachers’ unions, race demagogues, 40%+ tax burdens, open “borders”, “diversity” that is anything but - all these problems come from many people concluding that the only realistic choice is between Democrats.

All major cities in the United States have been managed for fifty years by City Councils run by the Democratic Party. All major urban school districts have been run by School Boards controlled by Democrats for fifty years. The last major voice by the GOP in race relations was the passage of the Civil Rights Act, and that was forty years ago.

The pathologies of the inner city, the failures of our appalling schools, the constant unwillingness to move to character and from skin color in human relations are attributable to the Left and the Democratic Party.

The Left bias of the media has become so overwhelmingly apparent that every book touching on it is an instant best-seller. (One wonders what the world would look like with an objective press.)

Why are so many Americans, who rail against the lack of education and values, voting for the Left? Why are business people, entrepreneurs, families in the cities voting for the party that demonstrably hates business, entrepreneurship and families? Because the vast majority of educated men and women never will vote Republican as long as the anti-homosexual and anti-abortion planks exist. They have little use for the uneducated class-warfare politics of the Left. They have no use for the vituperation of the Right.

In the national discussion on gay marriage it has been stated  that, “Persons of the same sex can never form a mated pair, engage in sexual acts open to new life, have children who are, literally, the embodiment of their - the couple’s - two-in-one-flesh union.”

The only appropriate response to this is, “…and?”

Homosexuality may be genetic; if not, so what? It is not a threat to civilization; it’s been around forever and we’re still here, right? Abortion is terrible. It will be lessened by education, however, not by vituperation.  The issue is to ensure women don’t want to make that choice, not to make it unavailable. Battles against technology cannot be won; abortion technology is here to stay.

Pretending that overturning Roe will end abortion is fantasy. The issue will return to the states, nearly all of which will allow it. No woman of child-bearing age in America has ever lacked the right to an abortion. To think that will change is absurd. Hello, Far Right Wing: Women vote!

Conservatives must accept these facts. How America will return to an educated society while carrying such hatred against something none of society’s business (homosexuality) and a done deal (abortion) is unknown.

The Right can remove anti-homosexual and anti-abortion planks and begin doing away with the worst of the Left, or head for extinction in a ridiculously ignorant Democrat-defined future, extinguishing the light that is America along with it.
